  1. Yes I just switched completely over to Sunline, but will say I would recommend Seaguar AbrazX for lots of wood and brush. I never had a prob with AbrazX and it has always held up extremely well in rough cover. As far as mono Sufix Siege in the higher # tests seemed to me to be more manageable than XT or Big Game.
  2. +1 with the exception of "possible lunkers" in a tournament, in which the net is getting wet, I swing in all species shapes and sizes and have been doing so for years. Obviously I'm not gonna attempt such a feat with a 4# on a ML with 6# test but generally any M, MH, H with 12# or more test line. The fish is going airborne.
  3. SIEBERT!!!!!
  4. If guy in front of you is flipping and trolling motor is on 80 then try to either keep up with him flipping or cover water across tops of weeds. Squarebill, fluke, spinnerbait, chatterbait, buzz bait. If trolling motor is slow use stuff like t rigs, senko, shakey head, jigs. Stuff that you need to wait for the fall. 8/10 times if he's good, he'll be on fish. Then it's a 50/50 shot if he's gonna position the boat for you too. If your paying gas money under tournament rules IMO cast wherever the hell you want. If your not then imagine there's a line going across the center of the boat and don't cast over that line. If it's team tourney you'll prob both Be on the front deck together half the time. Which brings me to next point if he's back boating you after you just gave him $40 for gas and he's fishing a specific tree, dock or structure, ALL DAY. Communicate with him. A closed mouth doesn't get fed and in most scenarios you can go to the tournament director and get him DQ'd for back boating you. ^ all other scenarios Frogflogger above nailed it. If he's cranking a point try a C Rig. If he's skipping docks try senko. But If he's fishing a rock bluff and covering water with motor on 40-50 and getting them, you can copy what he's doing. Chances are you will have great success. Remember it's a pro am format, you are the amateur. The pro is worried about him and only him. BUT then again out of the hundreds of tourneys I've fished as a co-angler, I can count on 1 hand how many boaters were complete jerks at first and after communicating with the person they ended up being great and helpful. Sometimes also in trails guys that are way far behind in points may only be fishing for lunker so a limit means nothing to them. So he may bust his arse trying to help you in his search for a hog.
  5. I saw that online, some colors look different in person. No one local has anything close to it from Berkeley
  6. Not to hi jack but have any of you seen any of the mentioned above in PB&J. No one ever has em in that color. Chiggers, pits, etc from Berkeley
  7. Awesome! Glad it worked out!
  8. I remember the one I had being Berkley same shape as the Frenzy just bigger. About the same size as my 115 sammys. Must've been a SW plug. Ahhhh d**n pike! I loved that lure
  9. Do u remember if they had more than one size in the popper?
  10. Paid $13 for it and price tag says $2.50 I got robbed. Lol I didn't know the mark up was so high thing is like 12 years old. A guy in my club has dozens of the lipless crank frenzy. I wonder if I should tell him to hold on to them as they're all new unopened. Maybe he'll be able to make a buck.
  11. Now is not the season but the Shadow Rap was doing good pre spawn
  12. Hahaha that's awesome! I usually re rig when that happens. Next time I won't lol hopefully I get bit
  13. Second thought. Don't think it's new lol a friend gave me a bunch of vintage stuff he got from a tag sale. Also got a Arbogast square bill and the bill is metal. Lol
  14. I have one of these new in the package. Does anyone know if it's worth anything? Model number is TW325-01 Silver 1969
  15. Ordered a Frenzy popper off eBay. Thinking I was wrong. Nope I was right this isn't it. I wonder if maybe it was a saltwater popper. It's literally twice the size of this.
  16. They just want the logo section so you can't do 2 claims with the same Rod they really don't want it but to keep track of who and what they need something for verification. ^^ what rippin said
  17. 1 year. Send them in with the form from the website. Just fill it out don't worry about receipt. If it were me though I would take them apart clean the hell out of them, re lube them, and see if it's still doing it. They pack tons of grease in the reels at the factory as a lot of people don't do any maintenance.
  18. Doesn't the core have a separate piece under the removable side plate that locks the spool in place? It looks like a red dial? I don't own one just remember seeing it.
  19. I think your right. Does it have a worm gear or the wheel like the Symetre? FYI cabelas has Stradic FJs in stock for $129 might be a better deal

  22. Jig fishing tip: Thursday through Saturday I caught tons of fish on jigs. Never had a legit hit. Everyone they picked it up and either sat there or started moving ever so slightly. So advice for the day. If you make a handful of pitches to the same spot and feel the same thing each pitch, then another pitch something feels "off" that's a fish! And I'll reiterate what's been said 100s of times. Watch your line! With exception of maybe 1 tick bite that felt like a bluegill, ended up being a 4lb LMB, I never felt any of them.
  23. I personally lose fish on those deep throat hooks. I think they're a gimmick. Try a regular football jig with a standard 3/0 hook. And I do a sweeping hook set. Deep footballs on structure is my go to summer routine.
  24. Nice!
