  1. Thanks for info! That clarified a few things for me.
  2. Really?? Lol it's gotta be bootleg then
  3. http://www.maochentaeo.com has the HD Custom for $145 only sells Shimano and Daiwa is a little suspicious. Only seen site from phone and half the pages don't load up properly....
  4. I'm running 15# SX1 with a 8# FC leader tied on. Liking it over Regular PP so far. Casts great and color seems to retain fairly well. Only other braid I've used are the 2 Sufix makes but those are 50 and 65#. They way I take it sx1 is for all the lighter stuff and fx2 is for heavy applications. Flipping frogs a rig etc. plan on trying that one this year. Update* ordered some FX2 for frogs and ARig in 65# looking forward to it. It was a no brainer for the price I got it for on the bay.
  5. Good insight thank you! I didn't even know there was a capacity difference. I'm gonna order 2 this week and take it from there gotta sell the ones I'm replacing. Edit update: i just realized the TWS SV zillion is the Tatula CT frame lol so they're compact? Lol they couldn't make this easy lol
  6. From what I've read better grade bearings and the gears are different metals??? Again this is what I've read online lol I'm in same boat as you waiting till may. Lol
  7. DVT can get you the carbontex drags at a great price. I can't help ya with those reels no experience with them. I will say the drag upgrade is well worth it especially for light line techniques.
  8. No offense at all! I've never experience that problem with any other brand reel ever. That's a cool solution for a reel that develops the problem after extensive use but not for a brand new reel out of the package. Sorry if my post came off the wrong way. Wasn't the intention at all. Self entitled? Throwing cheap shots for what?? Never had a issue with Shimano handles, but I don't cover my hands in oil before I go fishing either. So you may be right there lol All my salt water tackle is bought from my buddies local shop. He has sent dozens of these back to Penn. this is what 3-4 years ago? Tons of people experiencing the same problem and Penn didn't fix it. End of story. Op wanted people to post what they experienced with this reel so I did.
  9. I'm specifically talking about, looking at the Zillion TWS and Zillion TWS SV. my mistake if I wasn't specific enough. Basically between these 2 models. I'll want 6 of them for my moving bait rods. (2) 5:1 for cranking (2) 6:1 for jerkbaits (2) 7:1 for topwater and several other applications I'm wondering if I should be looking at the regular spool models for cranks and sv spool models for the other 4. Small jerkbaits especially.
  10. No just returned them. In pairs. Went back to the Shimano Baitrunners Shouldn't be a work around on a brand new reel. I don't care if I paid $14.99 for a reel it should do what it's supposed to day one. No excuses for poor design.
  11. Few questions on these Daiwas. Is the SV spool pretty much meant for finesse? Or meant for finesse in other reels like the SS? With the Zillion and say ... Jerkbaits, is the general consensus to get the regular spool or go ahead and get the sv spool model? Both spool types are available in all the ratios and they're the same price. Im asking because I'm thinking about changing over from one reel type to all Zillions on my treble hook rods. Cranks, jerks, top water etc. the Daiwa world is confusing as hell still getting used to it and everytime I think I got a general understanding of the line up they release 20 different models with the same or similar names lol annoying but I think it adds the fun to it for us gear addicts lol any General insight to practical applications will be appreciated!!!!! Thanks
  12. I was using the larger size battle 1 for salt applications and had issue with bail closing while casting. This in a few instances caused the line to snap and lost several lures. From everything I've heard they did not address this issue in the 2nd gen. The other issue I had was the clicker falling off under the spool. I went through like 6 of these and gave up. Sucked because they are built like tanks for the money. I would personally steer as far away as I can from all 3 of those penns, think it goes fierce battle and conflict... May be wrong on names but it's like $79 $99 $129 prices. Way too many better reels in those price points to even bother.
  13. Ive been throwing C Rig a lot past year and change. I kinda know that Rod but just off the bat though that's a lot of Rod for the rig. 7' -7'6 range is where I'd go. Me personally it's a 7'3 mh/f. Nothing fancy.
  14. +1 Metanium for "General" pitching
  15. Sup guys, 663C Micro Guides Any of you have this Rod and could tell me how fast the action is. I got a deal I could jump on as I'm looking for a new dedicated popper/Sammy Rod. 684cb is too light for the big sammies and the 685cb is too stiff to whip out the small poppers like Ricos. So looking to find a Rod in the Dobyns line that will compromise. And how does the Tatula T Wing work with the micro guides. Never used micros before... Thanks in advance!!!!!
  16. JapanLureShop under $300 all the time. Get the fastest you can for anything you need to pick up slack line.
  17. Just take spool off and rinse it in fresh water. Wipe down the reel and line roller with a damp cloth. Annual dismantle and cleaning is always a plus.
  18. I used to install car stereos and alarms and people would come in and have issues with systems that they put in themselves with flea market crap. Here's some brands I remember off hand that looked almost identical to the real one. Rockford Fosgate > Rockwood Fosgate Kenwood > Kenford Sony > Fony (irony.... Lol) Alpine > Albine Smfh at least this company played with the Japanese name for types of sushi, Shashimi, seeing as how it is fishing related....
  19. You got my mouth watering lol unfortunately lefties are SOL until May
  20. I fished this thing a dozen times, once when smallies were breaking. They wouldn't hit this thing but they were smashing a sammy. IDK.
  21. Thanks Bro! I want to try one out! Im surprised they are cheap as hell on through the web like the regular tats were initially.
  22. Does anyone know what the differences are between the CT and CT Type R? Bearings?
  23. Mike!!!!!!!!! Lmaooooooooo give me a call later. For those seeing this above post^^^ DVT has built custom for me before. Amazing work if any of you guys are interested.
  24. Have ordered from them several times. Awesome service and fast shipping. I order from them more than the other JDM sites mainly because at that moment the item in looking for they usually have the better price.
  25. Never new of that option! Thanks bro! don't like that handle
