  1. You're welcome bro! It's a solid rod. Large poppers maybe same as I said with spooks and Sammies but little PopRs and Ricos I don't see it casting good and it's too stiff for the trebles IMO. Some guys like M/XF for jerkbaits, I tried that and more fish came off then I could count. If it has trebles I'm using moderate taper. That's just me.
  2. 3 brakes and SVS at 2, thumbing wasn't a issue as there was no over runs... Dobyns, no hook keeper to hang up on. The section that was damaged, I should've took a picture but I re tied quick and went back to catching fish.... Anyways the section that was damaged was a good half inch. Idk how I could have missed a loop or something I would have felt it thumbing, no? Idk this was a first for me, typically use sniper all the time, shooter is stiffer... Prob made a good 300 casts after this event and zero issues everything performed flawless except line lay. No backing straight FC and the knot is definitely in the center. Idk I trolled out all the line twice on the Curado. Still did it.
  3. So, brand new Rod, brand new reel, fresh spool of 10#Shooter. Aprox 10th long bomb cast see a massive kink/shred in the line at the reel. 1/3rd of a spool gone in 2 seconds.. What could have caused this? Without starting a fanboy/flame war this was the new Curado I, and this is where I think I believe the TWS would have prevented this. Gimmick or not, I think at the end of the cast there must have been a lot of pressure on a extreme angle at the line guide. When I got home I ran a q tip all around, there's no sharp edges. The spool wasn't over filled either, (165 yards) left a solid 1/8" of space if not more, between lip of spool and line. It definitely wasn't there when I spooled the line on for sure the entire spool went on between my fingers.... Any thoughts on cause? Also side note the Curado I and Citica I seem to be bunching the line up more to the left side then evenly. Never experienced this before.
  4. The Dobyns CS 703 is good for those it's what im using but I'm actually going to go to the 733 FH myself. But if you're adding the hollow bodied frogs in there plus want to keep costs down Irod Genesis 2 'Fred's Magic Stick' is something else I'd look into. You can't go wrong with either. Btw Dobyns 3 power is pretty rock solid for everything you mentioned except frogs.
  5. T Wing aside, the Tatula platform is rock solid for the money. I don't think anyone can deny that.
  6. I own that exact Rod. Great fluke Rod for me! That Rod should definitely cover all those techniques except I wouldn't trust it with poppers. Maybe large Sammies and spooks. Anything with treble hooks I'd look at a Rod with a moderate taper. Something like the 684CB would be great for poppers small squarebills and a excellent jerkbait Rod.... Never handled the ghost...
  7. I really like my Citica and Curado G reels. They serve their purpose. I actually like them more than my Chronarch E series reels due to ergonomics, people with short fingers like myself know what I'm talking about. I'm just getting my feet wet this year with the newer stuff Met, I series Curado and Citica, Chronarch Ci4 etc. 1 thing is for sure none of them perform as good as the 1001XT for my taste/workflow.
  8. 6'6" MH/F here I fish flukes over weed beds and around laydowns. The short length allows me to work it with out slapping the top of the water and the power is there to turn a fishes head from cover.
  9. Latest members of the family! 3 for 3/8-1/2oz weighted Keitechs 4 for 1/2-3/4oz weighted C Rigs Edit: added this photo, they really do stand on their own, pun intended. Lol
  10. No one has it in bulk!!!! Ahhh lol will be on my DX 704 HP =D
  11. Pulled the trigger ordered a 660 yard spool of 10# Super FC, not Sniper. Gonna try it out. If I don't like it I'll donate it to the high school team or something. Also ordered some 12# Green Sniper to try out.
  12. Not saying I don't believe you, could have been a bad spool. But I've prob been through 20,000 yards of sniper in 7, 10, 12lb tests and haven't had a single issue. I did have a bad batch of 8lb Assassin. Shooter is prone to jumping off the reel I could see that being a issue if you're not used to it, was it definitely sniper?
  13. While we're on Sunline anyone know the difference between Super FC Sniper and Shooter FC Sniper? I posted this question last year and no one ever figured it out. I'm guessing Super is USDM and Shooter is JDM shooter FC sniper Super FC sniper
  14. i know this! Lol been running it in several tests was just thinking about checking this out for stuff like jerkbaits seeing as how abrasion resistance isn't that important. Maybe also for leader material as well...
  15. Also if you go through USPS and they come back with a price of $60-70 to ship they screwed up the dimensions. Guy at one of the local USPS doesn't know the difference between diameter and circumference.
  16. Any of you guys using this? I use sniper and shooter and love the 2. Was thinking about trying this stuff out and found lots of good reviews but also a few bad reviews. Not much talk about the line on the forums. $35-$40 for 660 yards of FC is a great deal.
  17. 7ft MH/F, mine has a soft tip 7:1 reel 14lb Mono spinnerbait buzzbait chatterbait all on same rod.
  18. Exactly line will be at 2 90 degree angles. Thanks J
  19. Im digging this one!! https://rodsatrest.com/collections/rod-racks/products/proseries-large-mouth-bass-ex-large-rod-rack sorry op for hi jacking the thread
  20. Pic is terrible but you see where the line is supposed to be coming through the narrowing opening. It's not. It's up over the side. That's all I'm referencing by pulling the line with you're free hand. Maybe using big line like 25lb FC or Mono it's less likely to make it up and over. ??? I my self ain't risking a malfunction and break off. Lol 65lb braid 14lb mono You referencing what I'm saying. Pulling line with free hand and dropping into pockets trolling motor on 70 lol
  21. Keep in mind the champion series line (non crankbaits rods) is different 3MH/F, 4H/F, 5MH/XF, 6H/XF the best way to figure out what each rods power is, using their website and search through rods they also list recommended techniques for each and every Rod they make. As far as comparing to other brands it's each persons opinion of what power Rod they are comparing. ^ what DVT said
  22. Thanks bro! I have the stupid round one from DSG. With reels on you have to use every other opening. Been looking for a new one. Appreciate the help bro!
  23. No. When the reel is in the retrieve mode, pulling the line can/could (depending on hand position pull the line out of the guide and up over the lip of the opening. I noticed this and stopped using it for flipping. Ask 20 different people what flipping is and they'll give you 20 different techniques. I'll probably get blasted by someone in a few minutes lol
  24. Way off topic but did you build that Rod rack? I need something like that!
