  1. 684CB is by far my favorite jerkbait Rod period. Hands down. Fat lady sings. Cow jumps over the moon. Lmao
  2. Funny you said that about the Steez I just scored a Megabass IS71 Hyper Lariat for a great deal. First MB reel. Waiting till I get this new Zillion in and see how I like it before I go any farther. Yeah all the rods are perfect only one more I need is a legit flipping stick. Like a 795 or something.
  3. Furys and Champ Ex HPs are now using Toray graphite blanks. Basically 30 ton and 40 ton. IMO the Furys are better than the Savvys, newer materials. The Champions are we're the most variety is like the Crank bait rods for example. I recently just went all Dobyns myself and basically have it like this, workhorses are Furys, treble hooked baits are Champs and where sensitivity is most important Extremes. Hope my experience helps your decision making process. If you have any model specific questions for certain applications many guys on here could chime in including myself.
  4. There's a knot I learned from a Aaron Martens video I don't even know if I tie it right but it works and has yet to fail me. Loop the fluoro pass braid through Pinch loop and braid leaving a good 8 inches through wrap braid 8 times up pinch and wrap 5-6 times back put braid back through loop same direction braid enters loop (so it looks like 2 lines going into same hole) grab both braid lines and both FC lines on each side continuously lube and pull, stop for straightening out wraps if needed when you get it down release tag ends and pull both main line one good time snug snip tag lines as close to knot you can cut FC for desired leader length look up his video of you need a visual good luck bro!
  5. All left handed anything from older citicas to newer metaniums. I'm waiting to get everything in and fish before I go selling all my stuff off. If for some reason I don't like something then I'll be stuck with having to buy reels I already had again. So plan is get Daiwas, fish them then determine which to sell.
  6. I just got the ballistics, insane deal on them I couldn't pass it up. I'm really impressed with them.
  7. Why do u hate the twing? ... Will do I can't wait to throw this thing, the JDM version has the mag sealed bearings too.
  8. Dave Ramsey's book Total Money Makeover. Thank me in a few years! ? --- Made my first order towards the conversion JDM Tatula HLC 8.1:1 - for Keitechs JDM Tatula 5.5:1 'Crazy Cranker' - for Squarebills JDM Zillion SV 9.1:1 - for 3/8-1/2oz jigs cant wait!!!
  9. The Tatula CT Type R? CT is the new compact version.
  10. In general people aren't using braid because it's super strong but for the sensitivity and it just so happens the higher lb tests are just more manageable on casting reels.
  11. Lmao why would I do that? Will get rid of some of the definitely but it's up in the site if I get rid of all of them. Idk the Daiwas are impressing the hell outta me. Really like their performance on the water. Nothing bad to say about Shimano though.
  12. I own the 684 and 685. Never fished the other ones you mentioned. The 685 hands down has my vote for techniques you want. Also can make a great jerkbait Rod as well as shallow cranks. The 684 is too soft for the squarebills IMO. 684 is my jerkbait rod 685 is my top water Rod.
  13. Not for nothin but if I get hung up its way easier to break off on a low test mono or FC leader rather than extra strong braid. Less stress on the reel too.
  14. Cool thanks I'll look into the Alphas I'll throw in there if stay with a mix of Daiwas and Shimanos I'll keep my Scorpion 1001XTs for the 684 and 685 and Met XG for the 743. The "new" older zillion is the 103 now??? I think, but I'm going all JDM I don't see it available. Don't plan on going the used route either. Just gonna do it all in 1 shot. Then I'll have like 20 Shimanos for sale if I don't keep a few. Lol SS SV looks like a good alternative for a couple set ups. It's getting really confusing.
  15. So I'm considering doing the full conversion to Daiwa all in one order from JLS the day the Zillion HLC releases. Really debating on which reels to go with would love for you guys that are more familiar with Daiwas various models to chime in. All I'm thinking right now is do a couple Steez and the rest Zillions but maybe some of their other models might be better. Here's what I need them for: Casting: Fury 705CB - Squarebills - Tat 5.5:1 'Crazy Cranker' Fury 735C - Frogs - Tat 6.3:1 Fury 795SB - A Rig - Tat HD JDM 6.3:1 Savvy 663C - Flukes - Tat Type R 6.3:1 Champ 684CB - Jerkbaits - Champ 685CB - Topwater - Champ 704CB - 4-8ft cranks - Champ 705CB - 10-18ft cranks - Champ 702C - 3/16oz Jig - Champ 703C - 3/8-1/2oz T Rig - Champ 734C - SpinnBuzzChat - ChampX 703C - 3/8-1/2oz Jig - ChampX 743C - Keitechs - ChampX 744C - C Rig - Zillion TW HLC Spinning: Custom 1 - Shakey Head - Ballistic 2500ex Custom 2 - Drop Shot - Ballistic 2000ex
  16. Only read OPs post... For the money they are rock solid, are they the smoothest, no, the lightest no, the best bearings no. But bang for the buck they make sense. Plus maitnence is as simple as you can get with those. But honestly the biggest drawback in my opinion is for the price tag and what you honestly get they should be throwing in a spare spool....
  17. I copy pasted it. But good observation! Lol
  18. Doing some research on these as I may be grabbing 2 of them in 5:1 and only the JDM model offers lefty. If anyone is interested here's what I found are the actual differences... Enjoy JDM Tatula has a Titanium-nitride coated line guide. 80mm skeletal ‘curved’ swept handle (similar to T3) equipped with Daiwa I-knob on the JDM vs. 90mm ‘straight’ skeletal swept handle with oversized paddle knobs on the US Tatula. JDM Tatula is equipped with a lightweight ultra-duralumin shallow spool (Line cap of 14lb-100m/16lb-85m) vs. US Tatula’s ported, high-capacity spool (Line Cap: 14lb-120m/16lb-100m). Black-coloured frame (JDM) vs. Gun-metal grey coloured frame (US). Gun-metal grey coloured cast control knob with coloured accents (JDM) vs. solid coloured cast control knob. JDM Tatula has a anodized lock nut plate while the US Tatula has a handle nut cover. Weight of 220g (JDM) vs. 225g (US) Manufacturer specified max drag pressure of 5kg (JDM) vs. 6kg (US). JDM Tatula is available in 5.4, 6.3, 7.3 and 8.1 gear ratios while the US Tatula is available in 5.4, 6.3 and 7.3 gear ratios.
  19. Rattles for water with poor visibilty.
  20. Thanks!
  21. So I have a 1.0 I've been throwing. Ran to dicks to grab a few spares. Get home open em in 1.0 1.5 and 2.5 and none of the new ones have a rattle. Did I miss something here??
  22. Ok so like a idiot just tangled about 30yards of line in my basement trying to get a loop out.... FML with that done did some pitching in backyard. It looks like it's laying line all the way up against the left wall of spool and when it travels back to the right side it's not going all the way over. Like 2 line thicknesses away from the right wall before it travels back. Spool tension is where the bait can free fall pretty fast
  23. @baluga said I could possibly have had cast control knob overly tight when I spoiled the line on. That's a possibility... Gonna check the sticking tonight.
  24. Thanks bro!!!! See that's why I love this forum! I would have never thought to check for it sticking. What when it gets to one side it stays there longer than the other, idk what exactly I'm gonna look for I'll figure it out I'm sure if this is the issue. The Citica I, I was throwing last week 16# Shooter chucking a C rig. Same scenario. I trolled the line out to relay it multiple times, every 20-30 or so casts it starts exceeding past the edge of the spool on the left side.
