    Frogs

What frogs are you guys using and which ones did you not like? I'm trying to get into frog fishing but the few I have either fill with water constantly or don't walk good or I miss the hook up.
  3. Might be the 1st person in USA with this!
  4. If you're adamant about DIY. There's tons of YouTube videos you can follow along. But sending reels to a pro like @Delaware Valley Tackle he'll be able to pick up on the little things a novice could easily miss such as bad bearings worn gears and bushings etc. good luck
  5. Ima beast hunter is a great one!
  6. Did a little revision
  7. When I first got into The TWS reels I thought same as you, but after using them I think it's a Non issue IMO. And if it is a original first run TWS part and does groove Daiwa will replace it. I've put mine through their paces no issues.
  8. does it sound like a rotational noise? Like a rock in a tire?
  9. I was thinking about that with the 702 for the DX702 but I heard there's no where near the backbone of the 702 I have. The 742 is too long for those little thing. I also throw little cabin creeks on that Rod with 1/4oz heads. I was using the 703C for spin buzz chat but wanted a full grip and Rich convinced me the 734 is the way to go. So far it's been killer for the 1/2oz Super Eruptions. Well for 2 years was using the *** 7'1" MH/XF for jigs. It was just a hair stiffer than the DX 703. Another option I was thinking grab a Fury 733 or 734 for spin buzz chat. And promote the champ 734 to Trig duty. Do the Zil HLC for the DX 744. I'd then have both covered rather than a Rod sharing duties. I'm almost there thank God! Edit* some buddies telling me the IS71 is not gonna be a good flippin/punchin reel. Ahh idk prob gonna have to move some things around. Might end up with a SV103 then.... Dam
  10. 11. They had the balls to deliver it like this. The rod miraculously survived.
  12. Fury 734 is perfect for that application don't even worry about the Savvy. Save the coin for quality line IMO.
  13. DVT built custom MHX HM 7'1 Mag ML/F with Torzite Guides Was built balanced to a Stradic ci4+ but I've since switch to a Daiwa Ballistic 2500EX Line I'm using 16lb SX1 with 7lb Sniper leader
  14. How is the New Alphas SV? Do they palm much smaller than the Tats/Zillions? Thinking maybe something smaller for top water and jerkbait rods? Idk was using the Scopion 1001XTs
  15. Typically the lower bearing count on the Shimano is because plastic bushings are being used rather than bearings, maybe on the knobs for example.
  16. I don't know man. 4 more reels and the line up is complete.
  17. I know you Shimano guys thought I was joking.
  18. It gives it character! Nice catch
  19. Yeah bro when I was using the ** rods. The reel seat was not working for me with the tats. Now with the standard reel seats in my new rods have no issue how I palm. I hear your gripe brother!
  20. Lol yeah I agree. So playing around with the list moving things around how does this look so far. The 2 with * are rods I'm gonna be ordering. All the reels in bold are what I just ordered this past week. Minus the zillion HLC I pre ordered. Casting: Fury 705CB - Squarebills - Tat 5.5:1 'Crazy Cranker' Fury 735C - Frogs - Tatula Tactical 8.1:1 Fury 795SB - A Rig/Swimbaits - Tatula HD JDM 6.3:1 Savvy 663C - Flukes - Tatula Type R 6.3:1 Champ 684CB - Jerkbaits - Scorpion 1001XT Champ 685CB - Topwater - Scorpion 1001XT Champ 704CB Glass - 4-8ft cranks - Chronarch 201E6 Champ 705CB - 8-12ft cranks - Chronarch 201E5 *Champ 765CB - 14ft+ cranks - Chronarch 201E5 Champ XP 734C - SpinBuzzChat - Chronarch 201E7 Champ 702C - 3/16oz Jig - Tatula 6.3:1 Champ 703C - 3/8-1/2oz T Rig - Tatula 6.3:1 DC HP 703C - 3/8-1/2oz Jig - Zillion SV 9.1:1 DX HP 743C - Keitechs - Tatula HLC DX HP 744C - C Rig - Zillion TW HLC *DX HP 795Flip - Flipping - IS71 Spinning: Custom 1 - Shakey Head - Ballistic 2500ex Custom 2 - Drop Shot - Ballistic 2000ex the 702 and 703 might upgrade those to 2 more of the zillion SV if I'm impressed with it. Or maybe save a buck and grab 2 Tat CTs. The Scorps and Chronarchs can hold me over as from this point in the season I won't be throwing those for awhile minus topwater. Critique - side note this leaves (2) Curado 201G7 (1) Citica 201G6 (1) Met XG (1) Citica 201I HG (1) Curado 201I (1) Chronarch ci4 HG available to sell. Could start recouping some funds lol
  21. The 704 glass has been good for throwing those little bandit cranks that weigh next to nothing. In selling this Rod tho if I get what I'm asking for it. Just not catching enough quality fish on the small stuff to justify keeping it. The 705 has been pretty much DT10-16 and Pin Jack dedicated. I do need a 765 the beast hunters I throw do over power this Rod. Do you think that would be good or the 764? They gave Paul his own signature Rod I may actually check that out but I think it's a 8 footer. the 2 703s have been perfect for close quarters pitching for me especially the DX. Skipping around laydowns and docks. So used to the 7'1" *** mh/XF that this has taken some getting used to. The other one has been good for pitching the light stuff like t rigged rage bugs and craws. The 744 I've been throwing 3/4oz c Rigs with no issue. Me and Rich we're going back n forth for a while on what would work for me. This is what I ended up with.
  22. Hey which rods were you thinking are to low of a power for given technique ?
