  1. If they do change it - it's going to really BUM ME OUT ! She is my sweetheart down South!
  2. I just invested in a new to me boat to keep at our little lake so I don't have to continue to bring the nice champion down the dirt roads all the time He is an '84 Ozark with a e-rude 70 on the back. I just replaced the TM with a Minn Kota 55 (12V) that a guy won in a T. I took her for the maiden voyage this rainy weekend. She did great! Two flaws - 1.) he is taking on water. I left my trailer in the water (private lake) and would fish for about an hour and then there would be quite a bit of water in the rear of the boat. I would load it and take it up the hill a bit (parked on an angle) so I could hopefully see where the water was coming out (the way it got in?). Couldn't get to the bottom of it? For now I am going to buy a big bilge pump and keep looking. 2.) the front deck on these '84s is small to say the least. I had a hard time using the TM pedal. It wouldn't sit flat because I had to have it jammed up against the front of the bow. I am thinking of getting an off-set seat post to move me back 5 to 6 inches. But don't know if that will solve the issue. Not complaining Looking forward to working out the bugs. May even add to the deck someday. Here are a coupls pics. My son named it REX (not a girls name but can't argue with a 3 yr old)! His new home at the cabin: will be adding a cover shortly Here he is prior to the weekend sitting next the Champion in storage: Also: We just completed our new dock!!! This is a great addition. We caught some catfish Saturday night while we played Backgammon and sipped a few Shot of the lake: Working this place into my little bass fishing Nirvana! Fished for about 2 hours on Saturday by myself. Caught 7 with the largest being 4.8lbs. One more Pic. this is the rear of REX. I suspect the homemade the livewell is causing my problem. I shoved a stick in the hole (it's still in for this pic) but it didn't seem to stop the water from entering? :-? Happy Releasing! H.G.
  3. Nothing better! Look forward to more pics!
  4. I suggest checking out the Champ 203 in the 'classifieds' on this site; it's a win-win! But good luck with whatever you do.
  5. simply awesome! Enjoy her!
  6. Great looking boat! I have always thought a 'flats boat' would make an excellent 'bass boat'. Would be cool if you could make the poling platform easily come off. Happy Releasing! H.G.
  7. Excellent! I know you are on pins and needles!! CONGRATS! will be checking back for the additional pictures!
  8. acar555 - so would recommend NOT buying the nav bundled version and then buying the newer chip since it sounds like that is what you had to do anyway? This way you will have a basic lake outline for most lakes and then then detailed on whatever the card comes with?
  9. PS- would it be possible to get some more pictures of her??
  10. AWSOME RIG MATT!!!! I know you worked hard to find it and it looks like it was all worthwhile! That boat looks steller! Let somebody else take the hit and step and buy it right! Again; she is certainly sweet and I know you are going to enjoy fishing and 'showing it off' around the lake! Happy Releasing, H.G.
  11. You make me sick Matt! Would be cool to to hook up and toss a coldie back Happy Releasing!
  12. You need to get them off the fence. As it sits you will already be staying in Sulphur Springs. I called 21 lodges, hotels, B&B's and resorts a couple days ago and I have my name on about 12 waiting lists. I finally located a nice gentleman who transferred his reservation to me because he can't go.
  13. I have heard (not from personal experiance) that if you buy the nav bundle the map will only have the lakes that are included in the bundle. It will not have any other lakes - not even the rough outline. I have not checked this out myself. I have been told the way to go is to buy the one without the Nav bundle and purchase the card seperately. Don't know if this is true - but worth mentioning if you are getting close to pulling the trigger Happy Releasing! H.G.
  14. Matt - I am planning on fishing the deep bite @ Fork - rigs and jigs all day!
  15. Sorry Matt: what I was trying to type was I am going to the Fork McDonald's Tournament because I would rather drive a tab bit farther than fish in the LOZ Tournament. McDonalds Big Bass Splash- Sealy - September 12-14 Big Bass Bash - Anglers in Action/Midwest Fishing Tournaments - They have one on Truman, Grand (I fished) and LOZ - The LOZ is the only left this year and it's September 20&21 Sorry about the confusion my brother! Happy Releasing! H.G.
  16. The 'Big Bass Bash'. My partner caught a 4.? to win the final weigh in. He caught it at 2:51 and the scales closed at 3:00. We weren't too far but had to haul some serious ___ ;D! There is another sometime coming up on LOZ. Can't make that one + Fork is just a little farther from me. Please Free the Fighter! H.G.
  17. How could you not vote for that gal! COUNT IT!
  18. counting the days! I love these big bass/pot luck venues. My boat won a 'g' at Grand a couple weeks ago! The one big bass with exact weight options levels the field to any decent (any) angler has a good chance! Post up if your going! Maybe we can catch each other! Happy Releasing, H.G.
  19. currently saving for the big screen. Don't have but want.....want real bad.
  20. I would buy a good working order 19'+ Champion between $9,000.00 and $10,000.00 (would probably be somewhere around a 1990 - 1996 year model). Then like above spend the rest on electronics, trolling motor upgrade, and leave a little in the 'boat fund' for repairs that always come along. Here are a few that I almost purchased when I was looking for mine. don't know the details but for example: 98 203 DCX $15,000.00 TX 99 203 $15,500.00 98 203 $13,500.00 96 191 $11,300.00 They are out there! Good luck in your search. Happy Releasing, H.G.
