  1. Welcome. Good luck with your tournaments.
  2. I've never used these. There are places I fish in the dead of summer that are almost completely covered over with grass and moss mats. I use a technique I'd call..."topwater finesse". This involves using a true floating plastic and letting it rest for up to a minute between ever so slight, teasing twitches. My question is: do any of these RageTail baits actually float. If so, I'd like to give them a try...............thanks, for an answer.
  3. Just a little note..............at Dick's , anything with a price ending in a 7 ( example- $3.97 ).....is a closeout item that won't be stocked again. If you like 'em grab em.
  4. Seizmic Toad in any color; as long as it's WHITE.
  5. We need to be truly thankful for all our blessings. There have been so many negative things happening to friends and neighbors around us. Our hearts go out to all of them. In my case, all my children and grandchildren were here with us. That indeed is reason enough to celebrate. Apparently the most appreciated gift I gave this year was a custom made baseball bat. It had my grandson's name and his number laser etched in it. He seemed quite happy with that. I hope all of you have recieved something you're thankful for.
  6. We have found that it is terribly expensive to travel with one piece rods on a commercial airline. This may be a drawback. You may want to check into their checked luggage limitations. Good luck.
  7. Merry Christmas to you,Joe. When I saw Fuquay, I had to respond. My family roots are in Fuquay Springs area. Have a wonderful and prosperous New Year as well.
  8. Loop_Dad, have you ever used those "American Trash Fish" swimbaits? I had a couple given to me but haven't tried them yet.
  9. I used to watch "Spanish Fly". Jose is now sadly missed. I watch "Reel in the Outdoors" with Joe Thomas. He's a really personable guy with an honest sense of humor. His cameraman, Jim, is a real hoot as well.
  10. I had Mike supertune a Calcutta 251 for me. I'm anxious to see the difference................I'll post a result after I've given it a try.
  11. Disney is entirely off my list. I just dodged a trip down there this fall.........Though,a guided trip isn't entirely out of the question. Thanks for your input. Keep the ideas coming.
  12. I'm ready for a January, southeast roadtrip. I'd appreciate suggestions on places to visit for bass. I do not plan on taking my boat, so I'll be shore bound. Thanks for the suggestions.
  13. Old school, Sluggo in alewive and gold /black with gold flecks..............weightless, texas rigged.
  14. I fully understand and sypathize, Mickey. The differences are, I don't play the banjo nor can I wait that long.
  15. Awesome student............In my humble opinion, an awesome teacher as well.
  16. Hello and welcome from Butler County. It's always good to have more PA represtation. There are lots of great folks and information here. I believe you've come to the right place.
  17. This coming year, I vow to catch a bass on a jig and a suspending jerkbait. Have any of you a similar goal?
  18. Vinnie, If I were just starting to get into a baitcaster, I'd check out the BPS combos. It's probably where to get the most bang for your buck.
  19. There is a site called " knot wars" . You may want to check that out.
  20. Bassmaster Magazine rated the MoJO rods a best buy for under $100.
  21. I had the negative impression of the swim senkos. Could never get them rigged straight enough. Tried 'em on scrounger head jigs, started to catch a few .
  22. Haven't tried them yet but did stock up on them for Mexico this year. They have a built in rattle chamber at the base of the tail. Last July we did well on generic 12 inch lizards in Bk/Bl, that I got off the internet. I only bought 25, I used a bunch of super glue trying to scrounge parts together to keep on fishing. We caught lots on the 8in. Zooms as well.
  23. I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on the use of glass or plastic beads. I personally think glass 'n brass is louder but have had occasions when glass has frayed my line. Any thoughts or opinions on the subject?
