  1. Not a single photo. I fumbled for my camera trying to get a shot of the gators. Once again........a day late and a dollar short..........
  2. Dang shame , SC. I feel for you. I had my PB break through the guides net. I was sick. At the very least you'll always have that memory. Better luck next time.
  3. A while back I asked for some information about fishing in Florida while were there on vacation. A member posted an invitation to show me around. This past Saturday he took me out and we fished one of his spots. It was thoroughly enjoyable. We caught bass and even encountered a couple unexpected alligators. The gist of this is: what a great site this for information and networking. I've chatted with a lot of good folks here. Thanks BR and .......especially, thanks to you Mike for being a gracious host.
  4. I have one that I use for a technique I , call finesse topwater. The twitching bar allows you to give a frog, spook or popper a tiny jerk without moving the bait any more than a couple inches. I'm not a big Diawa fan but bought this one for strictly topwater use.
  5. Welcome, I agree we need more ladies on the forums. Hopefully it will benefit everyone. Glad you spoke up.
  6. Old School, here.................Big O , perch or brown crawdad.
  7. For a deep diver I favor the LC CB 20 in a shad or citrus shad color. The main reason I like this bait is simply because it is the easiest I've found to crank deeply for the whole day. The 6th Sense cranks work for me as well.
  8. We were fishing for grunts and grouper. It's a good thing my bro-in-law had other fish in the freezer! It wasn't a very good day for me but , I did get some sun.....lol.
  9. I'm up early today anxiously awaiting my first trip this year. I had to travel to Florida to do it though. Going out of Clearwater on the Double Eagle hoping to catch enough for a big ol' fish fry. I'm sure my family back up north has just about got all that snow shoveled !
  10. We go to Angler's Inn, Trapper. No, haven't been to Baccarac yet. It's on the horizion. It may happen next year. The Amazon beccons as well. Thanks Bassman, I'm still looking for my first 10. Hopefully Antonio's net won't tear this year.
  11. I can never recollect seeing split rings on either the spook or jitterbug.
  12. Ya gotta love a good woman. My wife is excited for me about getting to fish El Salto again this year. She never really complains about my fishing obsession. .........It took me years to realize just what a gem she truly is.
  13. Great, glad you liked it. I'll let you know how yours turned out for us. Thanks .
  14. I copied that one , Nitro.
  15. Share it, Nitro.
  16. Would someone please explain how water temperature affects suspending baits? Thanks in advance.
  17. Brett, keep us posted. I'm anxious to see how you like it.
  18. I like to cook and have a few reliable recipies. I was wondering if any of you have any you'd care to share. French Onion Soup 4 large onions thinly sliced ( 2 sweet , 2 yellow ) 1 1/2 tbsp. flour 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. sriracha sauce ( wife claims it should be optional ).............lol 1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce 1 stick butter 2 48 oz./ 3 lb.cartons College Inn Beef Broth 3 Wylers Beef bullion cubes dissolved in a cup of water 1 tbsp. Gravy Master In the butter, saute onions until translucent. Remove onions and set aside. Cook the flour into a rue in the remaining onion liquid. (a blonde color seems to be about right ) Add remaining ingredients, simmer until it slightly thickens. Add the onions, cover, simmer for about an hour. Enjoy.
  19. Is there anyone from the Western PA area going that may need to share a ride and lodging?
  20. Zell Rowland agrees with you. He told me that he always ties directly to the bait. I respect his opinion but don't follow it .....
  21. I wouldn't mind coming but fear it's way too late to make any arrangements. Maybe I'll be more prepared next year.
  22. Illegal in PA as well !
  23. I'll second papajoe's response. I seldom use a mechanical attatchment. I do tie a lot of loop knots to facilitate more movement.
  24. One thing I've realized about solid water, it's easier to skip those jigs!
  25. .ghoti , am I the only one that got that?
