  1. I fish with my grandchildren to watch the sheer joy and excitement on their faces. I hope I'm making memories for them while introducing them to a wonderful pastime.
  2. For years I tried getting away with inexpensive rainwear. Had I invested in Cabela's Guidewear in the very beginning, I'd have saved money. .................Staying dry in cold, driving rain, PRICELESS !.

  4. Just a quick report , folks. I was deathly ill this treatment. Scared is an understatement. I'm feeling a bit better now. My doctor stated that he'll adjust the last session hoping to counteract the results of last time. Once again, thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers. Hopefully you're all enjoying great Fall fishing. Tight lines. Stitch

  6. Welcome, Troy, from the western end of the commonwealth. I hope this site proves to be a source of much information and good fellowship.
  7. Jeff, I've tried Berkeley Transition, Vanish, BPS, Vicious, and Seaguar. There have been days when it's warm and relatively windless that line conditioned flouro has worked. Mostly it's like trying to fish with a clockspring. I've not fished with a co-polymer. I have no idea how invisible it's supposed to be.
  8. Okay, folks, I admit it fluorocarbon has beaten me. I haven't found any I really like. I guess from now on I'm only going to use it for leaders. Have any of you come to the same conclusion?
  9. A Zell Pop in bone color.

  12. Hello and welcome, Bruce. Good to see more of us Pennsylvanians coming aboard.
  13. I agree with taking a single bait and fishing just that. It can be a bust or just the thing to build confidence. Nothing is a certainty. Good luck.
  14. This evening I took my youngest grandson( 5yr.) fishing for the first time with his 7 yr. old brother. We went to a friends pond and they had a good time. They threw" Excite", soft jerkbaits. The youngest caught 7 and his brother caught 13. There wasn't one over 1 1/2 lbs. but those kids sure got excited catchin' them. I love making these memories!
  15. Hi, Brian. There is a lot of information available here along with a lot of great folks. Welcome.
  16. Ya gotta love it when a plan works out !! Congradts.
  17. Cool black patch on the upper jaw. WTG on the boat. Tight lines.
  18. Audrey's done it again ! My daughter and the kids were watching the original " Wizard of Oz ". Audrey turned to her mom and asked; " if we go to, Kansas will we be black and white ? " I sometimes wish I could see again with a child's perspective .
  19. Thanks for the kinds words and thoughts. Glenn. There have been a lot of very helpful folks here that have helped me a great deal. Good people abound here. I consider myself blessed by them.
  20. Thanks, guys. Please keep praying. This chemo has knocked me for a loss. Six days sick is the worst so far. Still losing weight.
  21. My daughter and her hubby had to have their old Labrador put to sleep. Today the two grandchildren asked if "Cinder" wasn't coming back. My daughter replied that she had died and wasn't coming home. My 3yr' old granddaughter asked her 5 yr. old big brother if "Cinder" would have wings up in Heaven. He quickly answered, " No, dogs only get halos". These kids just never cease to make me smile.
  22. I carry a .380 or a .40SW, depending on the clothing.
  23. I had a Minkota trolling motor that I mounted on the front of my canoe. I don't remember the model but I was able to remove the top housing and turn it 180 degrees. It worked fine until I got rid of the set up. Good luck.
  24. Resuming chemotherapy this morning. There are lots of other things I'd rather be doing.
  25. I've got my fingers crossed for you guys. Go and knock 'em silly down there.
