I have not noticed any "slippage" of jitterbugs, that is one of my favorite topwater baits. I dont know why the lure would act in the manor it did that you explained. The last time I purchased a jitterbug was probably 1 month ago( purchased 3 black ) and they have been used every fishing trip since which is atleast once a week... I'm curious if this defect was caused by a possible shipment malfunction or some problem of that sort. Maybe they are using different material from when you were growing up but since I was using them I haven't came across a problem or difference in maneuverability produced by this bait. My dad who introduced me to fishing at a young age aswell as the jitterbug has been using this lure since he was a young fisherman aswell. He has not mentioned any differnce at all in this bait...
Curious about Arbogast's responses... Again, I haven't recognized a problem and I hope you find out what the problem from your experience was.
Interesting question, and yes that would be somethingl if it woke the fish up, LOL... IMO I don't think the earthquake will affect fishing, maybe tonight and tomarrow morning... Overall I think the fish will be back to their normal selves tomarrow if they were affected at all in the first place.
Interested to see what others say...
Yes, I agree with what your saying but i love to explore new places.. Sometimes doing that you get skunked but sometimes you come out with some monsters, but I always go back to spots I've fished before annd make adjustments/continue doing what needs to be done to catch fish.
I know terrrrrrrrrrrrrible...One thing I can say is growing up in NE as a sportsfan in my generation has been great, Bruins won a stanley cup, Patriots won a few superbowls, Red Sox a few world series, Celtics too.... But yes definatley an embarrasing game, good thing I chose to go fishing instead LOL.
Even though I'm involved in school soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and extra-curricular acticities such as science and engineering team(LOL)...There is always time for the fishing!
Last fall I was visiting my grandfather and that same weekend the stocked a pond with a bunch of trout and salmon... I landed a 6lbs 3oz salmon.. Later in the year I would say around the summer I was looking at the IGFA junior angling records, (at the time, don't know if it changed) I saw that the record for landlocked salmon was 4lbs, mine was 6lbs...Even though it isn't an official record because I did not know it at the time and didn't go through the process If I did and the fish was of size etc. Could the fish be a record even though it was stocked?
I caught my PB this year at 39" 27 lbs... We were trolling live mackeral on my dad's friend's boat. My dad's PB is 47.5" 38 lbs... When we surf cast we enjoy using crystal minnows by
Yo-Zuri... Apparently some 40lbs lunkers were caught in maine recently so we will probably drive along the beach take some casts...then drive take some casts... and keep doing that until we are either freezing, out-fished, or just tired of catching them (WHICH WILL NEVER HAPPEN, YOU CAN NEVER CATCH TO MANY STRIPERS!) lol...
Heres my bonus fish, not much of a giant, it's a 5lbs 3oz Cusk...... It was early spring and won me $125... (there was a pool for biggest fish on a big full day charter)
LOL you got that right... are you going out on the water tomarrow? My dad and I might try to target some stripers tomarrow if not we might go to some smaller pond and try to work out a pig or two...
