  1. Right before sandy, me and my dad got 18 stripers out of the canal...Biggest one was 31", didn't weight him though. Don't have any pics sadly.... And great fish!
  2. Still have power... No school tomarrow though, we didn't have it today either. Sadly I couldn't go fishing lol.
  3. In a few weeks will smallmouth still be active in rivers... What would you suggest to throw at them? Any info from New England would be exellent and any info given will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  4. My friend and I are going to my grandfather's house in CT in 2 weeks and we will be targeting trout and salmon. The salmon will be targeted from a pond that is stocked with them (caught a 6 pound salmon with a spoon last time)... The trout will be mostly fished from rivers and or streams... I want to learn how to fly fish but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on some trout/salmon lures that you guys beleive are rather successful. Thanks
  5. Agreed, very early spring last year we would put the conoe into a pond with extensive cover... We were targeting bass but it seemed like they just were not hitting, but we caught lots of pickerel...
  6. Yeah Lousiana holds some monster reds.... My friend's brother lives on the texas lousiana border and has caught some moster redfish and some nice flounder as well. He hasn't gotten to fish much lately because of work...
  7. Man I wish I was down there....
  8. We ended up catching 18 the biggest being a 31"... If reports say that the fish have moved on (past cape cod) maybe my dad and I will try to drive to jersey or new york and try to get some from the surf... Thats the only stri[per fishing I do unless we go out on my dads friends boat once or twice a year, caught my pb this year at 39" 27lbs trolling live mackerel.
  9. LOL... trust me SirSnook after college if an oppurtunity arises south florida will be my destination... That is also how I lost my 2 snook, they shot out of the water and spit the hook... I can't remember one of my stripers that have gone tatally ariel, not even on a topwater hit. For now since I really have no choice I will continue fishing for stipers and for the snook, jacks, etc on vacations. And I dont have a Van Staal LOL!!!! This might have been the last saltwater fishing weekend for me. My dad and I landed 18 stripers ranging from 15" to 31" being the largest.... Im thinking the hurricane will just turn the fish off and send them on there way south of me...
  10. Great fish! Is that the same pier/bridge you caught that big Cuda on(the barracuda in your gallery)?
  11. Im going to fish for stripers this weekend, after the storm the striper fishing might be done(most likely). Maybe the storm will send baitfish into the canal for a striper frenzy.
  12. Driving about 2 hours to get to the canal tonight fish 2-3 hours then driving 2 hours back... (Doing my homework on the way there) Hopefully it pays off!
  13. And I though that i have seen some decent sized pickerel!!!!!!!!! LOL
  14. My dad missed a 34" incher at his feet and we only laned one 12" fish lol...still a fun day.
  15. We caught them from shore...We went down today again, my dad missed a 34" we only landed one 12" lol...
  16. Ive never caught a big jack... I have seen monsters from my grandfather's sea wall, only caught a small one prob 3 pounds.
  17. LOL, I will post how I due and if we are successfull I'll post pics... That one is from last week.
  18. My dad, my friend, and I are going to the cape cod canal this weekend. My dad and I went last weekend and landed 27 (12 pounder biggest), I'm bringing my friend this time. He is going to try to catch one on his fly rod... Should be fun, hopefully we land some more and maybe some bigger ones! Some 40 pounders were cought in maine last week and maybe some cows will go through the canal! Anyone been there recently? Anyone fished for stripers recently?
  19. All I know is this...That fish is a world record, I beleive its weight was 22 pounds 5oz but ties the 22 pound 4oz record because it must beat the record by 2oz or more... Also WRB is correct, I also thought it was cought on a live bluegill.
  20. That is a great photo... Looks like it produces some brutes!
  21. That's the world record bass caught in japan, its weight 22 pounds 5oz i beleive, and it is tied for the world record with a 22 pound 4oz bass...The reason they are tied is because any world record( i think state too) must be atleast 2 oz more than the previous record...
  22. This was the result of the trip...27 total here was the biggest... Even the small ones fought great!
