  1. If I had to choose one setup to fish with it would be a 7' MH Fast with a 6.3:1 or 7.1:1 reel...
  2. I think I'm going to try it this upcoming year with a 6'6" MH Compre, paired with a President and 8# Yozuri Hybrid line... The hook size and weight you mentioned is also good, as far as baits what are your favorites? I was planning on trying finesse worms, and craws...
  3. Here's my new thought, I get a swimbait specific bass rod maybe an iRod Genesis II, and get a reel that can be used in fresh and salt water. This way I can use the setup for stripers and bass... Just because I don't see myself throwing a swimbait all day everyday.
  4. 6lbs 5oz LM, 3 lbs 8oz SM
  5. I agree with with Roadwarrior about the hybrid line for the smaller setup, it is terrific! As far as the the other setup goes if your frogging or fishing any topwater I would keep straight braid but if you would prefer leader I would go with 15# Seaguar Senshi mono. I have two presidents myself and haven't had any problems with them at all, as a matter of fact I caught my PB on that reel. 8# Yozuri Hybrid line, texas rigged rage craw...
  6. Got a Spro BBZ-1 8" slow sink swimbait, It's my first big swimbait I plan on trying for bass. I don't really have a bass rod to throw a 4.8oz lure with, should I throw it on one of my lighter striper rods even though its spinning? I don't think any 7' or 7'6 MH bass rod will hold up very well with a 5oz lure, what do you guys think, should I experiment with the bait on a striper setup or on one of my bass rods, before investing $300ish dollars in a swimbait setup...
  7. NICE!!!
  8. Favorite and most memorable freshwater day, a friend and I decided to hit the water for ONE hour after work... That ONE hour produced a 4 fish bag of 18lbs 3oz(I think), we had my PB 6lbs 5oz, my 4lbs 14oz, my friend's 4lbs 12oz, and my stout 2lbs 9oz.... Favorite salwater day, Cape Cod Canal, fall day and they were running strong through the canal! We caught 27 in a couple of hours lots of nice sized stripers!
  9. My favorite things that Santa ended up bringing me were the 7'6" Clarus Crankbait rod, Orra Winch (to go on the Clarus), and a T3 Ballistic... It really sucks that I have to look at my new stuff for a couple more months! At least I get a little break in February when I go to Florida, hopefully I can get more bass fishing accomplished this year...
  10. It is killing me!!! After getting all my new stuff for Christmas I have to wait a few months to use it... All I can do is look at it... LOL
  11. Merry Christmas to you southern guys! Where the lakes AREN'T FROZEN!!!
  12. New PBs LM and SM, but my proudest achievement this year... http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/sports/highschoolsports/1018862-457/milford-junior-helps-launch-nhiaa-bass-fishing.html
  13. Bleeding dark melon and truse pumpkin are sweet!
  14. Back to back casts... Some nice salmon...
  15. This is the only picture of me holding a pair of smallmouth lol, and here is my biggest smallie... Both caught during my high school bass fishing season but separate years, you can tell which is older by the length of my hair LOL
  16. At first I though your rod was on the ground, and I said to myself, "He's crazy if he thinks this fish is 30+ pounds!" HAHA, after studying the photo I realized my mistake...
  17. Daiwa T3 Ballistic $125 at TW, Santa will be dropping this off...
  18. I was looking at the ballistic rods earlier, they look solid for sure! I don't have any experience with the rod though...
  19. I'm more interested in the T3 Ballistic reel for $125!
  20. As far as fall rate, a jig and a senko are completely different baits and shouldn't be compared by fall rate. When your fishing a jig (excluding the swim jig) your on the bottom most of the time, can be fished on the bottom but most hits come on the fall... As far as hook up ratio, you need a more technique specific setup while jig fishing than you would need while fishing a senko. Yes, certain rods will help with senko fishing but when your fishing a jig you need to take in to account your gear ratio, rod taper, etc...
  21. I think Nev even fishes it weightless, personally I don't like it though...
  22. Texas rig, rage rig, jig trailer... As far as colors go it depends on where you are fishing, green pumpkin would be a good overall color to start with, then from their you can expand with candy craw, blue craw, bama craw, etc...
  23. I'm looking to try one out in the spring...
