  1. Funny how i was just reading about what the heck is the term Bait Monkey the other day. At this point I don't consider it bait monkey yet as I have some gears that is not suitable. I mean I was throwing some spinner bait with a over size crappie rod and didn't even realize what a mistake that was until I tried my buddies Abu. Soon enough I will start to buy things I don't need. Well actually I'm married. In a span of 3 yrs I've gotten married, bought a house, and now working on the junior. That's kind of the reason why I don't care for cars and sports anymore, change in lifestyle. However fishing, truck, bass boat is the new craze for me. Why can't I take up hobbies that doesn't cost much money.
  2. Thanks for the reply everyone. Seems like a well built reel. However seems like the price on the used market for these reels depreciates like a house a few years back. Forgot to mention but durability would be my main concern since I'm sure it should be 5 yrs old or older. Im looking to get a reel that I can take anywhere, camping trips, fishing trips, or a day out on the river to kill some time. Something that is not expensive and I dont have to worry about damage since it will be tossed around with all the luggage and crap during group trips. Trading some of my misc junk so it almost feel like I'm not spending anything on it. Also found some used ones for sale that seemed to be cheap, almost too cheap.
  3. Looking to trade a coworker some of my stuff for his Quantum Energy E750 PT. It should be around a few years old as the new Energy PT is E100's. Problem is I just can't seem to look up any info on this reel and my coworker doesn't know much info either. Not sure if it's that old or what but even Quantums page has nothing on older reels. I even searched here and found nothing. Very very little hits on google search for this reel. Reviews and mechanical info (braking type) is what I'm looking for. Anyone has info on this reel please feel free to add.
  4. Thanks for the reply. At this point I'm just assuming it got dipped in water but now I think the bearings some how went out or got bad. Can't even turn handle without forcing it. I was hoping to find a local shop in the twin cities MN.
  5. Does anyone the rough estimate of cost to repair a spinning reel? I have a reel given to me and brand new it cost $130ish. I think it must have been dropped in water or something and ball bearing system seems to get slightly locked up. Was wondering if it's worth it to fix. I guess anything under $50 would be worth it IMO but if repair and parts cost more than that maybe buying a used one would be better if I really wanted the same reel. Any input is appreciated.
