  1. It probably was. I think it was sometime in the summer of 2010.
  2. This happens to me a lot. My dog climbs in the bed while Im sleeping, I wake up and my dogs face is about 2 inches from mine. But sometimes though, its his butt instead of his face. A couple years ago we had a small earthquake. I woke up cuz my bed was skaking. I yelled at my dog cuz I thought he was pushed up against the bed and scratching himself or something but then I relized the house was skaking too. Only lasted a minute or two. It was actually kinda neat to expierience. Im sure I wouldn't feel that way though if it was one of the larger quakes that actually cause damage.
  3. Cool pics....looks like a fun trip!
  4. Sounds like most of the lakes that I fish. Im like 30 minutes from the Maryland Deleware line so they're probably pretty similar. Im always fishing from the shore so I don't really know about fish finders and all that. If it is only 4 ft deep, the water temp shouldn't fluxuate too much between the deep points and the shallows. If you can't find any offshore stucture, try some of the shoreline cover. Im not sure what you should throw Tuesday but when it warms up and the bass get more active, I'd be throwing squarebills at every bit of shoreline cover I can find. Keep in mind that Im still fairly new to bass fishing so take all this with a grain of salt. Just my thoughts.
  5. I agree that a T-rig would be a good place to start. If the bite is tough, try a t-rigged or wacky rigged senko or senko style bait. Once you feel like you have t-rigs down, maybe move onto some kind of moving bait like cranks or spinnerbaits. Try and master a technique before moving on to something else. If your watching Glenns videos, your on the right track so pay close attention. And like Nitrofreak said, a very large part of fishing is building up your confidence. So take your time, don't let yourself get overwhelmed and practice practice practice. Try and make mental notes (or you could even keep actual written logs) on where you catch fish, what you caught them on, and what the water/weahter conditions were. After a while, you can start to apply what you've learned from this everytime you go out. Just take it slow, keep at it, and eventually it will all start to fall into place.

  9. This year I wanna try and learn to fish jigs and get more proficient at t-rigged soft plastics. I catch some on the t-rig but I feel like Im missing a lot. I think someone in another post said something about braid improving the sensitivty and making it easier to feel bites so maybe Ill try using braid for my jigs/worms. I also wanna catch something on a spinnerbait. Ive been fishing them a lot but for some reason never got a bite on them.
  10. This except it was a Snapple Ice Tea bottle. I guess I just wasn't paying attention.

  12. I found one stuck up in a tree a few months ago. Hooks are rusted and need to be changed out but Im planning on fishing it this season. Looks like a good bait to me. Tried it out today just to see what kind of action it had and I gotta say I liked it a lot. Hopefully I can catch some nice chunky fish on it this year.
  13. Ill tie on a jig every now and then and I never catch anything either. But so many people on here swear by them that I keep feeling like they have to work and I can't bring myelf to not fish them. Im gonna try and get more into jigs this year. Planning on starting with a swim jig and working my way down to the slower bottom contact ones. Slow fishing isn't exactly my preference or specialty.

  17. When I was a little kid I'd go crabbing with my dad on the Magothy River (off the Chesapeake) and my mom would pack ham and cheese sandwhiches. I don't really even like ham and cheese but for some reason, after sitting in a plastic bag for 3 or 4 hours in the sun and and condensating all in the ziplock, it tasted good. Go figure. Now that Im older (and boatless) Im fishing from and bank and my trips usually only last a few hours. As such, I usually just grab something to eat on the way. Depending on where Im going and time of day it's either Sausage Egg and Cheese McGriddle value meal or Fillet-o-Fish value meal from McDonalds or Ill hit the pit beef place and either get a Scrapple Egg and Cheese on white toast with hasbrowns or a Pit Turkey Sandwhich and Fries.

  19. X's 2 on the inline spinners and the awesome Disney Bag!
  20. The video won't play. It says its restricted on certain sites. That being said, I saw a show on Animal Planet where the host and a guide fished the Devils River from kayaks. They went through some rapids, pulled a hook out of the guides ankle, and caught some chunky bass. Beautiful river like you said and some nice fish too.
  21. If your having trouble with your knots, this site here has little animations for pretty much every knot used for fishing. It really helped me out when I first started. http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com
  22. Nice. Still wating on my first bass of 2013. Going out Thursday if the weathers good. Im gonna make sure I bring my trout gear too though just in case. Don't wanna beat a dead horse all day trying to make the bass bite.

  24. Just went to the Rapala website and watched the little demo videos. I like the look of it and if I happen to come across it in the local bait shop or Wal Mart or something, Ill probably pick one up. But Im not rushing to place an internet order or driving an hour and a half to BPS anytime soon. As for revolutionizing fishing....eh....who knows. Maybe. Maybe not. I could be wrong but I kind of feel like I can get similar erratic action from my crankbaits with moving the rod tip back and worth and giving little pops and twitches on my retrieve.
  25. Im still new at this and have only fished small lakes and creeks. This guy at my work that I talk fishing with says thats rivers are a whole different ballgame. I have a few near me so maybe Ill try a couple out this year and see for myself. I'd be fishing from the shore though and it seems to me river fishing would be better with a boat. But then again, I guess so would lake fishing.
