  1. Awesome fish man...congrats!
  2. This has been my experience. I know the beavers are there but as long as there not around at the particular time I'm fishing, I usually do ok. If I see a beaver swimming by every 15 minutes, the fishing is usually slow. A couple days ago I was fishing a Hula Popper and had a beaver swim into my line. It kept swimming, pulled the popper into the side of its neck, and then I got to fight a beaver for 3 or 4 minutes. Luckily it got itself unhooked. I didn't want to lose my popper but if it hadn't come off soon, I would have cut the line.

  13. LOL...that's friggin hysterical...good stuff!
  14. I killed them last year on squarebills, mainly the Strike King KVD 1.5. Caught my first fish on a lipless crank this past spring though and I've heard they're a good fall bait as well so I'm anxious to see how my Red Eye Shads do come October.
  15. Don't feel like reading through 6 pages of replies. My take on it is that if I spend a lot of money on it, with my luck, it'll be lost within a week. I don't think I'd spend more than $10 or so on a single lure and that's pushing it. Maybe $15 but it would really have to impress the heck out of me. I haven't lost many this season (knock on wood) but if I bought an expensive one, rest assured, I wouldn't have it very long.
  16. Awesome fish! And for the record, I've never had a blind date go well...
  17. Awesome day! Awesome fish! Wish I could catch em like that!
  18. Welcome!
  19. I could have sworn I recognized the guy in that episode from somewhere. Now I know. Good episode. EY seems like he'd be really fun to fish with. I love his goofy antics but at the end of the day, he's still out there to catch fish. As far as the new season goes, I'm like 98 percent sure that I read somewhere that the show was picked up for another 14 episodes or something like that and they only aired 7 or so new ones. So there's gotta be more coming in the not to distant future. Probably sometime this fall. Hopefully they don't make us wait for spring. Believe me, I'm checking the guide every Sunday and got my DVR set. I'll try and remember to hit you up with a reminder if I see any new ones coming up but I can't promise anything.
  20. Welcome to Bass Resource!
  21. Topwater is my favorite but pitching t-rigged soft plastics is quickly moving up the list.
  22. I used to work in the kitchen at a country club. After closing, I was wiping down some countertops when one of the dishwashers came running up and threw a handful of flour in my face. I grabbed the wet rag I was using, chased him down, cornered him, and proceeded to light him up with a wicked barrage of towel snaps. One actually broke the skin and left a 2 to 3 inch cut on his forearm. I'm actually kind of proud of that. When I was in 6th grade I was eating lunch. I had an individually wrapped container of peaches. This big oaf of a kid who used to mess with everyone decided he wanted them and grabbed them off my tray. Well I wasn't gonna stand for that so I went to grab them back. I must have inadvertently shoved my fingers into the plastic wrapper because they exploded all over his face and shirt. He had to wear his gym uniform for the rest of the day. Jerk got what he deserved.
