  1. Maybe I'm just really fortunate and I know I'm probably jinxing myself with this post but I've never lost a lure to a chain pickerel. I have had 2 of them cut the line once I had them out of the water but they were over land at that point so I didn't lose the lure. Never had one bite through the line during the fight.
  2. Good looking fish!
  3. Awesome show....love it! Had to work so I DVRed the premier. Looking forward to another season.

    Tuckahoe Joe's Fish 2

Made this album cuz my first one was full.
  8. Congrats on an awesome fish!
  9. The DNR stocks trout in a lot of the creeks around here. Is it possible that it's a stocked creek?
  10. Sometimes I have stuff tied on from a week before. Before I fish I'll give the knot a few good pulls to see if it breaks or slips. Never had a problem.
  11. LOL...I'm sorry but I'm still laughing about this.
  12. I dunno man but the mouth on that thing is ridiculous!
  13. Man, you hit the nail on the head. While fishing I've seen countless beavers and bald eagles, a huge otter out of the water rolling around on the grass like a playful dog, turtles the size of trash can lids...freaking majestic stuff. This is only my second season bass fishing and it's brought me up close and personal with nature. Heck, the other day driving to the lake, there was a deer in the opposite lane and it actually ran towards me, jumped, ran across the hood of my car, and kept on going. Bass smashing topwater lures, huge chain pickerel pulling drag like nobody's business...I wouldn't have experienced any of this if I hadn't taken up fishing. As for other women giving me flak about fishing, I don't have to worry about that. I work six days a week and all I really only have time for is my work and fishing and fortunately for me, my wife loves to fish. I moved last year and all my friends are about 2 hours away. I don't make new friends very easily so if I'm not working, I'm fishing with my wife. She's my world and I'm hers. If she's working I'll go by myself and she'll tease me about finding some floozy to fish with or if I'm working I'll tell her she'll just have to find some other guy to take her but we both know we're kidding.
  14. Someone told me about that but that's the first I've seen of the video. Dude's lucky he didn't get ate.
  15. I love catching pickerel. A buddy of mine caught one a couple days ago that looked like a freaking baseball bat. I'd rather catch bass but a big pickerel will put up a heck of a fight. Like others have said they'll bite everything and anything but I catch them most on spinnerbaits, crankbaits (lipless and squarebills), and soft plastics.
  16. I'll use a Roostertail from time to time. I've had them catch fish for me when the bass wouldn't bite anything else. It's also nice that several other species seem to like them and you can pick up a bonus fish or 2. For bass I use 1/4 oz. When they stock trout in the fall/winter in the creek by my house, a 1/8 Roostertail is my go-to lure. Unfortunately I have a bad habit of getting them snagged, whether on the bottom or in trees and I don't have any right now but trout stocking time is coming so I'll be stocking up soon.
  17. I don't have a scale so I dunno the weight. Caught it about an hour before sunrise on a black Jitterbug.
  18. Welcome! Don't really know Columbia but where were you from on the Eastern Shore and where did you fish? I'm in Ridgely in Caroline County. I mainly fish at Tuckahoe State Park, Smithville Lake and Unicorn Lake but I'm always looking for new spots to try out.
  19. That's funny right there! Someone told me about the rice thing before but I thought they were full of it. Not planning on dropping my phone in the lake any time soon but it's good to know this works.
  20. Awesome fish...I always look forward to these posts!
  21. Awesome fish!
  22. Wow...Sandy Point State Park is like 30 min from my house and I didn't hear anything about this. That's pretty messed up. It says the owner of the boat is being charge with the illegal fish possession but what about the other fisherman present? Seems to me that they should be just as accountable. Also does anyone know what the penalty would be for something like this? I looked and all I could find was the penalty for taking 4 or more striped bass undersized/over limit, which would only be having your license suspended for a year. But this is way more extreme and these guys didn't have licenses anyway so what does that really matter to them?
