  1. That is rough Scott. Having booked my share of resort cabins over the years (used to take 1 or 2 week or week+ trips a year). For 5 nights at a decent place it easily push $750 - $1000. Very doable for a group of 2-3 guys but tougher for one. Not to mention having to hang out and fish by yourself for the duration. Any out of state trips are booked only with close friends and family 95% of the time.
  2. I think Quantum's intentions were good with Hot Sauce. The thought of the user being able to easily eyeball where the oil was being applied to and how much. Would take any guesswork out of whether a certain area had product applied to it. However the aftermath is where it gets people. I think they should scrap the color/red dye and use something more traditional and that won't stain parts.
  3. Yes, at least it holds true in their "classic" GLX series. http://www.meltontackle.com/products/g-loomis-classic-mag-bass-rods.html
  4. Lots of good replies and Bluebasser86's was exceptional. I have a friend that is indecisive. Never can pick a lake. Always asks how I am rigging even if we have fished that laks a hundred times. Asks if we should move or stay. I have a friend that always is in disbelief when the boat has moved off course after he fights a fish or has retied. I have a friend that early fishing for him is around 10:00 am I have a friend that fishes a frog from open water to ice up. I have a friend that complains about the prices of plastics, jigs and hardbaits but spends thousands on other recreational activities. But at the end of the day they are still my friends and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I am not perfect and I am sure things I do bother them.
  5. Can you take a screen shot of it?
  6. Hot Sauce should only be used on Mexican food. It has no place in the fishing industry for this guy!
  7. Both the standard swing impact and fat impact made by Keitech. The RI little dippers are incredible as well. Lastly I would buy a swim senko and cut some of the front end off. That would be my top 3.
  8. Looks like a winning combination to me. Can never have enough jig and craws!
  9. There is a video on YouTube with A-Mart speaking of drop shot rigs and the line. I know he likes 7# Sniper but mentions he will drop down to a lighter like on occasion. I have used 6 and 8# with no issues regarding line management or casting. But then again I use flouro and mono for my casting setups. Some folks like Yoxuri Hybrid in 6# due it's breaking strength for spinning.
  10. Bluebasser86 - I really like a Shimano Stradic if you can catch one on sale. The FJ series was a great reel (now discontinued) and is super solid. You may be able to find some used for well under $140 in nearly new condition. For line I really like 8# Sunline sniper. Not a big braid fan for anything other than frog fishing. Drop shotting is one of my favorite and most productive techniques and over the years I haven't had an issue with using the above equipment.
  11. Cant wait to get some packs of these! Any idea on the colors for these? Would be cool to see a honey candy or bluegill color if that is possible!
  12. Good to see you back from your "vacation"! Looks like the time a way has yielded some great fish!. Knowledge + Time on the water = Success!
  13. Can't wait to see the end product. This is gonna be good!
  14. Looks like they are sold out unless I am looking at the wrong place.
  15. On a hot bite or whenever I have the chance to use it if it was something bought recently. Generally spring brings lots of product trials, as orders from winter have came in and cabin fever sets in.
  16. I will add some to my collection as well. Keitech really hit home run with the Fat Impact. The # of copies off that bait the last few years is incredible.
  17. Once I find something that works for me I will typically go "all in" on that plastic and buy it in my favorite colors. I probably have somewhere around the following packs for these specific creature/beaver style baits as an example: RI Beavers - 30 packs SK Rodents - 25 packs Havoc Pit bosses - 20 packs D Bombs - 15 packs MSC creature baits not named above - 40 packs That is well over 100 packs of Beaver/Creature style baits. It gets equally as bad when you look at drop shot baits, soft plastic jerkbaits, senko style baits, finesse worms, paddle tail swimbaits, and ribbon tail worms. I couldn't even give you a number of bags of plastics I have as I would be counting for far longer than it would be worth. I can tell you I have to "computer paper sized boxes" full of give aways for young anglers that I don't have a need for. My hardbaits collection on the other hand is far less impressive. Probably only about 12 3700 series boxes give or take. If I fished these soft baits from now and until dooms day I could tell you I would probably run out of some things in some colors at some point in time but it would take quite some time to completely deplete everything!
  18. You may want to list the exact models you are considering getting? The SV reels aren't true BFS reels nor are they meant for casting extreme distances. They are more geared for user friendliness when casting normal sized baits. Also keep in mind the SV 103 and Zillion SV reels haven't been out all that long so odds are not a lot folks have their mitts on them. If you are on the fence buy one and fish it before you sell your other reels. It may or may not meet your expectations.
  19. About a 4.5 to 5 hour drive one way from Omaha.
  20. Most are either private or on the opposite end of the state. I am not sure where exactly you are referring to? The better fishing in NE takes place on the central to western portion. That is a minimum of a 3-7 hour drive.
  21. Looks like a good day to me and a few nice fish!
  22. Our biggest problem this year seems to be highly fluctuating temps. We have hit 70 as well as 30s in the same week sometimes just a few days apart. Add in the fact the water clarity just hasn't been there and it has been tough sledding. I haven't really caught much at all on my local waters but did do pretty well going out of state to fish!
  23. Another week, another good sized fish that you posted. Looks like you are on a roll. Keep up the good work!
