  1. I absolutely love the performance and price of my shimano curado 201e and now as my chronarch 51mg begins to slowly decline with its age I am wondering is the 50E the same quality as the best in show 200e that is its big brother?
  2. With every new day out on the water with a rod and reel I believe I learn something. After watching countless shows and reading numerous articles I decided that my next purchase would be some serious new shades. More research revealed that the Costa Del Mar 580 glass while expensive is worth the price based on longevity and performance. Now I'm stuck I need some advice on what color glass to get and whether to get the mirrored version or the regular glass lens. All information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John McNamara
  3. How short of a handle are you looking for? If I were you I'd go on www.***.com and I would search around for the handle length your looking for. Some split grip rods may feel more natural in your hand and in that case I would look into e21 carrot stix. Good luck.
  4. Here in Massachusetts it still feels like winter but fairly soon the ice will be melting and the spawn arriving. That means the bait monkey is coming back also...I have three rods one flipping one spinning on crankbait and one 7ft mh baitcaster. I need new line please post what brand and pound test for each rod. I fish mostly in murky water pitching and throwing plastics in an around wood structure and lilly pads Thank you, 8-) 8-) Jmac
  5. most of the time i am using spinning gear im throwing a drop shot or a wackey rigged senko or even a fluke. Personally I am in love with suffix performance braid i use it on all my spinning gear except for drop shot. I feel it has better sensetivity and better control of bigger fish
  6. Matt lures blue gill will do the job that is if you have a swimbait rod to throw them
  7. I am very new to the drop shot technique. Never fished one in my life. Im looking to buy hooks, wieghts and soft plastics. Please share the brands y'all use that makes this technique effective. Im not looking for line or rods that is taken care of. Thanks, John
  8. u dont know how lucky u r.
  9. I've had real success using a wieghted 5/0 gamakatsu hook. letting it fall then picking it up and letting it fall again
  10. Thanks guys but what is the best pair? what brands do u trust? do i go polycarbonate or glass?
  11. gotta love the topwater smallies. I had about a three pounder launch 4 ft in the air chasing my lc sammy doesnt get better than that
  12. I have heard from many people that next to their rods and reels sunglasses are the most important tool for a fisherman to have. Agree or disagree im looking at buying a new pair of high quality glasses. What do y'all recomend? btw heard good things about costa 580 lenses...
  13. Lures that I found effective trolling for maine smallmouth were rapala original floater and original sinker with wieghts as well as the most productive bait which was a lc pointer 100.
  14. Go get yourself some booyah boo jigs preferably in a watermelon color and get some sweet beavers and slay em
  15. haha also bought a live sammy on sale at bass pro for 6 bucks...looks good in my box but fishes like crap
  16. for me its been my lipless cranks and my small crankbaits...they just sit there
  17. x2 this is a geat first rod and reel option
  18. I was reading a tackle tour product preview of the punch skirt and this thing looks killer for getting through thick vegatation. The company, pay check baits is also making the punch hook that is going to be very similar if not identical to the BMF hook which was very popular with flippin anglers. My question is has anyone used them?
  19. These look awsome u have alot of tallent
  20. WOW very helpful info thankyou im putting the magic eraseer to work when i get home
  21. If u want to invest in a lure that will catch u fish while crankin buy the lucky Craft BDS its a proven preformer in my neck of the woods and worth the money. Other lures that i will put on is the bandit 100s and norman fat boys. Good luck.
  22. dont bend it back and chance breaking off that monster. Your hooks are one of the cheaper parts of your equipment. Throw on a new one and catch that pig
  23. OH SNAP!
