  1. face buff is the only way to go. has saved me a ton on sunscreen and keeps me cool all day on the water. best investment ever. got a sweet dark camo one. want to pick up another one soon and/or some simms sleeves
  2. Siebert, killing it as always. Keep it up, i love your work.
  3. surprise: strike king shim e stick or yamamoto fat ika. watermelon or green pumpkin. best producing plastics for me thus far. disappointment: buzzbaits. they elude me, need to put in some more time to believe
  4. strike king shim-e-stick are the closest i have found to senkos producing fish. watermelon black flake is my confidence color and have caught some big fish on using these with a wacky hook. love it.
  5. use a double uni knot to tie either mono or fluoro to braid for a leader. it really depends on the type of water you are fishing. if it is stained you may be able to get away with braid, but with finesse a leader will put you miles ahead. this way you can use whatever knot you prefer. i love straight braid for topwater and hollow body frogs through slop, but i use 65 lb test. should not tear up your rod guides. i have never heard of that though so dont quote me. different guides feel smoother than others but i have never had any problems. tight lines
  6. Big O, you are the man. This defines everything that is awesome. Love the dedication. Amazing fish/story/picture. Everything!!!
  7. those are some hawgs most definitely. killing it. if you do not mind, what did you get them on? beautiful fish
  8. wow, i am impressed. thanks for sharing...love the look of this fish. that dorsal fin looks mean. awesome
  9. slaunch...nice fish bro.
  10. congrats tuckahoe...just got my first square bill on the rick clunn and also my first lipless as well on a ratltrap over the weekend. gotta love positive feedback. hooked into one and then had a lot of confidence. ended up catching 5 more over the course of the day. love them crankbaits this was the last and final fish of the day. was adjusting our direction in the kayak by throwing out to the left and i think i found a brush pile or something because she nailed it. clunn.5 all day.
  11. one thing that has helped me a lot would be to make a day box of all hard baits/jigs/spinnerbaits/terminal tackle and to also have a small container for your plastics you could see yourself throwing that day. i like to use the waterproof blue plano because it is the perfect size for everything. bassego on here makes fun of me because of it but i use an old five star pencil case from back when and it expands open (easily holds about 12 bags of plastics, wacky o tool, and smelly jelly) especially on the kayak where space is everything. hope that helps. it will definitely allow you to game plan for the day at hand instead of being overwhelmed on the water. i have about three backpacks i switch off between boat/shore/ and kayak.
  12. tried to my hand at horny toads last night for the first time on straight braid. seemed pretty versatile, just need to put it in front of the right fish. no love last night but had much confidence. have heard nothing but good things. what produces the most strikes? walking on the surface or letting it fall then popping back up? definitely was varying my retrieve somewhat in the cover but in open water, it's almost as if it needs to be worked very quickly.
  13. seconded. i couldn't even imagine. hang in there. there is nothing worse than lower back pain, especially if it is keeping you off the water. my thoughts go out to you. tight lines.
  14. that is a monster fish. there have been some anglers around these parts that have gotten 300+ lb tuna, but nothing of that proportion. such a behemoth
