  1. I got a few older Shimano Curado's, a Mojo bass rod, a Shimano Caenan, and a few lures. I got a few other things but nothing that I didn't fund by selling something else.
  2. I started when on my 4th birthday. My dad got me a snoopy rod and reel for my birthday and I spent all afternoon practicing my casting in the yard. That evening we went to the neighbors pond and fished for some bluegill with worms and bobbers. Now I'm 16 and am more hooked than when I started. I've gone from worms and bobbers to $300 setups and tournaments...this sport is too expensive, the bait monkey gets me every time
  3. Cold chicken, BBQ beef, or ham sandwiches, granola bars, jerky, lots of sunflower seeds, tons of water, usually some cookies or something that my mom makes. There's a lot of salt but I just drink lots of water and I'm fine.
  4. None of it...I'll be using it to pay for gas and insurance when I get my license soon. So technically all of it since I'll be using the car to go fishing haha
  5. I was busy hunting until a few weeks ago. Now I've been cleaning my tackle, organizing everything, and looking for good deals on reels.
  6. Summer jobs for me until I am out of school. Last year I washed dishes which was a bad idea. This next year I'm trying to get a job helping janitors at the high school. If that doesn't work out I'll try to get a job at one of the local sports shops.
  7. I went to Camp Luz and fished the pond today after school for a few hours. I caught some good ones on a *** Jig in Army Green color. Swimming it along the edge of the shoreline weeds caught the good fish. These jigs are really good, they don't snag and they hook the fish in the top of the mouth.
  8. Guys I've taken some people's advice and stopped trying to get sponsored by companies for now. I'll still be working on my promotional skills by promoting companies I believe in whether even though I am not sponsored by them. I'm looking for a summer job and will be saving for a boat and truck once I find one. I'm fishing tournaments from the back of the boat with a partner, and am fishing Jr. tournaments with TBF. I might fish the Ohio HS state championship and in a few years will be looking into college fishing. So basically I'm not worried about sponsors for now.
  9. Hey guys a local newspaper is running a photo contest and I could really use the prize right now. Just follow the link below and click on "Deer, Turkey, and Fish photo contest". Then click on "cast a vote" and go to the fourth page. I'm the last picture on the page right now and it's the picture of me with a big bass. Then click on "vote" then "save vote". You can vote once a day so just keep voting until the contest is over. THANKS A LOT! http://www.facebook....212077615474453
  10. Hi, my name is Jason Short and I'm from northeast Ohio. I just turned 15 years old today and have been fishing seriously for 2 years. I'm on the Jr. Pro Staff for The Bass College and Ohio Bass Pro. I'm also on the Regional Pro Staff for Powell Rods. My biggest bass was caught this spring and was 23 inches and full of eggs. I fish local ponds from shore and local lakes with a guy from church. I am a member of the Tri-County Jr. Bassmasters and finished first in the jr. standings this year. Next year or in two years I will start fishing local open tournaments and moving from those to Federation events and BFL's (once I'm old enough to register for those). Here's a couple pics of me and my fish. <---- that's for the fish not me lol.
  11. Here it is. Feel free to tell me I'm an idiot for wanting sponsors at this age or whatever it is you guys do. But if you say anything please include what I can do to make it better. About Me I was born in Kidron, Ohio and now live in Apple Creek, Ohio. I have been outdoors my whole life fishing, hunting, and just running around. I am now 15 years old and fish tournaments and fun fish. I am a member of the Tri-County Jr. Bassmasters which I joined this spring, and have fished all the jr. tournaments and one adult tournament. Our club tournaments are over for the year and I ended up in first place in the scoring for the jr club. I won one of the tournaments and finished 2nd in the others. I will be fishing the Ohio Jr. State Championship on August 25th, and I hope to finish in the top five. I fish as often as I can, normally 4-7 days a week. I fish ponds from shore and local lakes from a boat. I may be fishing the High School Fishing State Championship next year as a sophmore. I am on the promotional staff for The Bass College. I am also the technical staff for their website and help many members out through private messages and even phone calls if necessary. Education I go to school at Waynedale High School and get all A's and B's. I take all the required classes along with Spanish and computer classes. I know a lot about using computers so I can promote your company all over the internet. I have never gotten worse than a “B” in any of my classes all of my 8 years of school. How can I help you? When I get a jersey your logo will be on it and I will wear it to lakes and tournaments. I have over 500 friends on facebook that are fishermen. They see every post I make and I can promote your company by mentioning them in status updates. When I catch big fish using your product I will also post a picture of it and tell them that I used your product. I am a member of multiple fishing forums where I can promote your product through posts and private messages. I have a youtube channel where I can make videos of me catching fish with your product. I can also make promotional videos telling people about your company. When I go fishing I meet lots of new people that I can potentially get to buy your product. I can hand out business cards to people at lakes and ponds as well. I am also available for any other suggestions you may have and will do whatever you ask to promote your company.
