  1. Someone else said that kvd didn't soak into this line. I have a bottle on hand so I will try it out anyway.
  2. Try the Squirrel Tail worms for shakey heads. One of the best out there.
  3. I fish from a boat until they lower they lake, then it's shore.
  4. How soft is the Yo Zuri? I'm reluctant to lay the cash down for this line, one because they make an ultra soft that no one seems to prefer over the original, and 2 because I'm told a line conditioner is a must, and 3 because I have come to hate fluorocarbon line because it's too stiff.
  5. So why not ultra soft for baitcasters? Which is closer to the softness of Trilene XL? Regular or ultra soft?
  6. My next one is gonna be the Revo S, but that new STX is looking awesome. If I get a back lash, it's during the cast not the landing, so centrifugal would be the way to go for me. The new STX has the best of both worlds, and might be worth the extra $70.
  7. I've been using some crank baits I got off www.themangler.com and they are amazing. For $2 a piece you can't beat them.
  8. Rage Tail Anacondas, Rage Tail Smokin Roosters, and some KVD Line and Lure treatment.
  9. For the life of me, I can't ever seem to catch anything on a Rat L Trap. I've heard so much good stuff about these lures, but I couldn't buy a bite on these things. I have a few 1/2oz traps, along with a tiny 1/8oz but they have yet to produce for me. What's the secret to fishing with these??
  10. I have a buddy that swears by worm spinners, but I'm not so sure. Is it worth sacrificing a senko to try, or is this set up a gimmick??
  11. KVD Line and Lure works great even though I thought it was all hype at first. Try it on some soft line like Trilene XL, and it's like fishing with sewing thread. Love that stuff.
  12. I have a 2nd gen SX as well. I read all of the horror stories about back lashes, but I know how to set up my reel so no issues for me. It's a great reel, and I don't think the Gen 3 will be nearly as good.
  13. Super slow bite here in TN as well. Fish are suspending at 25-35 feet and won't eat a thing.
  14. Strike king black and blue jig with a black papi craw trailer.
  15. I'm an Abu guy too, but I did sneak an Okuma in my arsenal as I love those Trio spinning reels. I currently have 2 Vendetta rods, a Revo SX, Black Max 2, and am about to pre order a new Revo S and pick up a Veritas. Their stuff is great quality, and it looks just as nice as it fishes. Can't stand the colors that Shimano picks for their reels.
  16. Shimano? Never heard of it.
  17. I'm right handed but I can't get comfortable with reeling with my right and holding the rod with my left. I wish I could, because there are some sweet Lew's reels I would buy in a heart beat.
  18. Gonna give some a shot. Hope you guys are right about this stuff...
  19. I've thought about doing that too, but you're right about the cost of the bearing kit. That's a good chunk of money that we could stick towards the revo s.
  20. Thanks. The bite has been terrible the whole month of August. If September isn't any better, I may resort to dynamite fishing.
  21. I'm incredibly ambidextrous, so using my left hand isn't a hindrance to me. I can winch a fish out of where ever I need to. Are some people REALLY that weak with their non dominant side to where they can't reel in a fish???
  22. Rage Rig a worm and it's amazing. I've caught more fish the past few weeks this way than I have in the past 2 months.
  23. My BMAX 2 is a great little reel. I can sling baits a mile with that thing with it dialed in. I don't ever notice a performance drop off when I put down my revo sx and pick it up. The drag isn't the best, but it's ok. Hell I paid $35 for it on Amazon, and for the money it's been top notch.
