  1. The Addict. When I'm not fishing, I'm thinking about fishing or shopping online for new gear that I really don't need. Every time I spend $$ my GF sheds a tear for that bigger engagement ring she thinks she could have gotten.
  2. I run all of my SK lures stock. Never had an issue with losing fish with the VMCs.
  3. Revo S is a steal at $129.
  4. IMO, 6:4:1 is a great all around set up but 7:1:1 should be good too. You can always slow down your retrieve easier with a 7:1:1 reel easier than you can speed up your retrieve with a 6:4:1. Either way you should be good.
  5. These aren't the only mag brake reels I've owned. The BMAX 2 uses the same exact braking system as the new Revo SX, which was miles better than the linear mag system in the Revo SX gen 2. Mag brake reels are good for flipping and pitching, but I prefer centrifugal brakes for all around performance as they are much more versatile. I have a new Gen 3 STX and it has the best of both worlds.
  6. My hand hovered over "submit order" for a minute but I just couldn't pass up that deal. I love these rods. Wish walmart had villains.
  7. Walmart.com has Veritas micro guide rods for $70 right now. Just picked up another 7ft MH. That is a steal.
  8. I agree. It was more of a case of me being picky, as there was a normal amount of give to one side, but it bugged me so i fixed it. My S had way too much movement though. Maybe the newer batches will be better.
  9. Bingo! I just got a new STX and had the same issue only it was less severe. I took a small piece of 8lb mono and put it between the spacer and the frame of the reel. That took out nearly all of the play without making it overly tight.
  10. The square bills are designed to run erratically.
  11. I love the Rage Tails and how they are packaged. You normally don't see bait companies put forth any extra effort in packaging their baits to ensure they work the way they are intended. Strike King has quickly gained a huge fan in the past few months. Love their stuff.
  12. I love light wire hooks for shakey heads. Best one I've used so far was one made by Jewel called the Squirrel Head. Worst was probably the Yum Pumpkin Ed Jig. That hook was HEAVY.
  13. I'm the opposite. I hate the trigger on the Veritas but love it on my Vendetta. Love my Vertias more though.
  14. I have a Gen 3 Revo S and a Gen 3 STX. I had a Gen 2 SX which I HATED, and also own a Black Max 2 that uses the same braking system as the new SX. While the Mag Trax brakes are much easier to tune, I will never purchase another reel with magnetic only brakes. IMO, JUMP on the Revo S. It's a great reel, and it's buttery smooth. I can't say enough about it. I can launch baits like no other, and the pitch centrifugal brakes make back lashing nearly impossible. The S is available in only the 6:4:1 version, but it's plain amazing all around. If you want a great rod to stick it on, pair it up with a Veritas rod, which Walmart.com has on sale right now for $70.80 which is a STEAL. My vote goes to the S or STX if you have the extra cash.
  15. Just bagged another 7' MH Veritas micro guide rod for $76 shipped from Wal Mart.com of all places. I've ordered rods from them before, and they ship very fast which was surprising, and all rods are sealed in plastic and packaged nicely. Just a heads up for those interested. Oddly the micro guide rods were $70.80 while the regular version was full retail. Nice deal on an amazing rod.
  16. Revo S+Veritas is an amazing combo.
  17. WOW better action than the anaconda? I gotta try some then.
  18. Veritas hands down. I have both rods and there's no comparison.
  19. Rage Tail anaconda is my favorite worm. I rage rig it on a 4/O keel weighted hook.
  20. I've already exchanged it. The new one is much better thankfully.
  21. Even with the spool out, the handle had resistance so there's no way.
  22. My new one is fine. The other one just acted like the spool tension was cranked all the way down. The spool free spun fine, but cranking it felt bound up with or without the spool in.
  23. I hear the new Shimanos aren't the best either. I figured Abu would cheapen the revos this gen and so far it looks like I was right.
  24. Online but swapped it out at the store. The guy at the counter was amazed at how tight the handle was. New one is like night and day. These new Abus have let me down so far.
