I'm not brand loyal either. I've been fishing with Daiwas, Shimanos, Abus, Quantums and Zebcos all of my life. Abus are what I primarily use now, because they just feel good in my hand and perform nicely.
AMEN! :battery-062:Any posts I make about Abu Garcia products always have at least 2 comments on how I should have gotten a Shimano. Obviously if I wanted one, I would've bought one.
New gear is always nice, but if what you have still gets the job done and you're satisfied with how it performs, then save some cash and use what you have.
I hate being shore bound. When the reservoir here gets low, we take our boat out of dock and don't stick it back in until the water is back up near march. The good thing is that you can walk out to where you wanna be most of the time, and even find some lost lures lol.
The REVOS I've gotten lately I'm sure are from the first few runs. Early adopters like myself always experience more issues than those that buy the same things later on down the road. Kinks will always need to be worked out no matter how well planned or manufactured something is.
Agreed. I've gotten away with cheapo rods for years, but never have been able to keep a cheapo reel going for more than 2 seasons. That being said, my Revo S is on a veritas, and my STX will be on a Villain as soon as they micro guide version hits.
