  1. I've yet to take the plunge on Yo Zuri Hybrid, but I tried SpiderWire's EZ Fluoro and HATED that stuff. Total junk, with tons of memory. I'm getting to where I just can't stomach fishing with the sponge known as mono anymore. It's manageable, but plumps up way too much in an hour and hinders casting for me a bit. Not sure if I will try Yo Zuri or Pline Fluoroclear first...
  2. I'm just giving you crap for hijacking every thread with "should've gotten a shimano" lol.
  3. Should have gotten an Abu...
  4. Picked up another pack today in the smokey shad color and some 5/0 hooks. Maybe see how they work tomorrow.
  5. Strike King is helping me out with an issue. Told me they were including so extras for the trouble. Love when a company backs their products and customers.
  6. A few advantages IMO, but you're right. They have tons more QC problems that regular guides. I learned first hand that micro guide rods, at least in the Veritas' case, can't be ordered online. You have to physically inspect the guides yourself if you want a quality one.
  7. I usually troll backwards and try to free mine up when I get on the side of the lure. Works nearly every time. I've also stopped T rigging worms and other baits in favor of the rage rig and haven't gotten hung up one time.
  8. Academy has these on clearance right now cheap. 8s and 10s though.
  9. So what's the consensus choice for hook sizes? I picked up a pack of these in silver bling and wanna test these out soon. The pack says between 4 and 6/0 but a 4 seems a little small.
  10. You can get an Abu Garcia Veritas micro or winch model on walmart.com for $70 right now. It's light and very sensitive. A steal for that price.
  11. I just picked up a nice Heddon 3 pack of topwater lures last night. For $10 I got 2 zara pups and a tiny torpedo. Can't wait to test these out.
  12. I'll take the word of the man that designed the baits. Thanks Steve.
  13. I've fished Abus for years, and this the first year I've had any issues.
  14. This is why I don't buy any rods from BPS, and if I do, I ask if they have any stock in the back. Some of their rods are just so beat up, nicked up, scratched up, that I just can't bring myself to pay full retail for a rod that isn't in top condition. I use rod socks to prevent such damage. I will also say that I recently ordered 2 Veritas rods from Walmart.com, one for myself and one for my girl friend, and both were of poor quality. Mine had cracked guide epoxy along with the tip and one guide horrible misaligned on the blank. Her rod had black streaks near the mid section of the rod where it was gouged with something then expoxyed over during manufacturing.
  15. Blacks, purples, blues, reds, green pumpkin.
  16. I have never caught anything on Culprit worms.
  17. IMO, the Veritas can do it all. Great rods and won't break the bank. Walmart.com has them for $70.80 right now for the winch and micro guide models.
  18. The top water bit has really come alive here finally and I wanna try either the Rage Shad or the Eeliminator. If anyone has used these, which would be the best for the top water bite? Thanks.
  19. I've got one of these. I need to buy a skirt for it.
  20. 3/8 or a 1/2 for me.
  21. The fourth guide from the tip was angled at approximately 11 o clock, while the tip was offset a bit as well. I have another on order. Glad you can return online items in store.
  22. Check your guides. Finally opened mine up today after a bout with a kidney stone to find that one guide had cracked epoxy, while another was severely crooked on the blank.
  23. I reel with my left and cast with my right for both bc and spinning gear.
  24. Walmart.com has veritas rods both micro and winch rods for $70 right now.
