  1. A swim jig is different.
  2. I use a 4/O keel weighted hook for the smaller anacondas. 1/4 oz.
  3. Wow that reel looks amazing!
  4. I used to use Grandebass, Zoom, and Yum products until I tried Rage Tail plastics. They are high quality and have better action than anything I've ever used. The only RT bait I have that has yet to produce for me is the Smokin Rooster. I just can't get the bass to nail this thing.
  5. I can't catch anything on tubes. I hear everyone say how they are a big producer but I'll be darned if I've ever gotten a bite using one.
  6. I use a zoom swimmin' chunk or I trim down a 6inch worm and stick it on there for a slimmer profile.
  7. Rage rig those anacondas. The look awesome on the fall with that big tail slithering downwards. After trying it, you won't ever T rig a worm again.
  8. The Anacondas in the rage tail line have the best action I've seen in any worm. They also make the recon worm which is the anaconda with a ringed body. Yum f2 ribbon tails and grandebass mega tail rattlesnakes are good too.
  9. Anything by Rage Tail is a must have. Best plastics on the market IMO.
  10. I've heard good things about taking the skirt off and putting on a swim bait. May trim down one of those bruiser bait super swimmers and stick it on as a trailer.
  11. You gotta have both. One will work when the other won't. The only issue I have with SK RES, is that the bbs inside the lure sometimes get glued down when they manufacture them. I have some that rattle nice and loud, and others that sound like it only has 2 or 3 bbs inside. QC is not one of SK's strong suits when it comes to hard baits. Their plastics are amazing though.
  12. More breakage. Might take a pass on it then. I hate having to return anything, as it always seems to be a hassle or take forever to get replacements. It's a sweet looking rod though, and less bling than the Villain which I liked.
  13. You touched an Abu? Did it burn lol??
  14. All of my rods are one piece.
  15. How did the brakes perform for you when you used the new Revo S?
  16. Been debating on picking up an Abu Villain micro guide rod for my new STX, but then I saw the Phenix Recon which looks amazing. TW's reviews are a mixed bag, with the cons mostly being that the Recons snap easily. The same thing was said about the Veritas, but we own 3 of those with no issues so I don't put a ton of weight in reviews. If any of you have any experience with these rods, I'd appreciate a heads up on how the perform. Looking at the 7'1 MH. Thanks.
  17. Both reels have centrifugal brakes. What makes the Chronarch's better?
  18. You Shimano guys need knee pads. If you slapped the Shimano name on a Revo S, you people would love it. Fan BOYS....
  19. I love micro guide rods. Can't say I'll be buying another rod with standard guides again. I love the weight savings, and I'm slinging baits noticeably farther and more accurately than I ever did with my standard rods. Maybe it's placebo, but nonetheless I'm loving micro guides so far. I have 2 Veritas micro guide rods now, but a Falcon Bucoo micro is in my near future.
  20. The Revo SX only has a mag braking system. The revo s has centrifugal only. The stx has a dual braking system, while the revo premier has the IVCB-IV braking system. I had a gen 2 revo SX and had a love/hate relationship with it. I've used mag brake only bcs for years, but I just couldn't dial that reel in to save my life. I know the new SX has gone with the mag trax system which is different than the linear mag system in the gen 2s and that should make the new SX easier to dial in. Still, unless I need a reel for flipping or pitching, now way my $$ goes towards anything with magnetic only brakes. I have a Gen 3 STX, and I have NEVER once used the magnetic brakes. I just use 2 of the spring loaded centrifugal brakes with slightly looser than recommended spool tension and my thumb and it performs flawlessly. Once I start pitching and flipping, I'll disengage all centrifugal brakes and use the magnetic brakes. But a reel with ONLY mag brakes?? NO.
  21. Gotcha. How does this compare with Yo Zuri hybrid?
  22. Is this mono or fluoro line ?
  23. I love my revo s gen 3. Abu nailed it with the s.
  24. What's the consensus choice for good bladed swim jig? I've been using Z Man with no issues, but not super impressed with the hooks. The Booyahs look good, but SK makes some nice ones too. Thoughts and opinions are appreciated. Thanks.
