  1. I have all 3 and don't catch any on them. But if I toss a chartreuse lure....bam. I get bit.
  2. Going to fish DH this year. About 3 Hours from me and I can't wait to land those smallies. Amazing place to fish by all accounts.
  3. I know with the way Skeet sometimes acts it's due to his "marketability" and he's probably not really like that when the cameras are off. I did lose a little respect for Evers during a MLF episode, when he tried to sling a fish into his stomach to lip it but it hit him and went into the water. He then proceeded to blame the camera man for being too close and gave him a death stare afterwards. Evers messed up and blamed someone else. And Ike....I like him actually as I've stated in other posts. He cracks me up, and I love how he gets under the skin of other competitors. Like I said, I know that most of there personas when the cameras are on aren't necessarily the ones they have when they are off.
  4. Was just in my local tackle shop for the first time, and noticed a sign that said "don't see it? Ask." So I asked about a 7"1 Villain micro guide rod since only a few places online have them, and at full retail. After some looking through his book, I hear "$149....does that sound ok?" Um yeah that sounds great lol. Needless to say, I think I found my new go to place for all of my rods. Can't wait to get my Villain next week.
  5. Glad I could help.
  6. I have one made by Conquer Outdoors that I got from Wally World that is pretty nice. It actually had a pocket that has worm binder pages in it, and holds 3 370 boxes but you can take a divider out of the top zipper pocket and put another 370 in there as well. I can fit nearly all of my go to lures and gear in there, but I just have too many plastics to not carry my worm binder with me. It also has a few other pockets, and I'm able to put 2 small boxes in one end that has my jigs and cheaper cranks that I use when I know I'm gonna be fishing in areas I know I may get hung up. I'm pretty happy with it so far, but I do have another tackle bag that I got from Academy that's pretty awesome too that's made by Tournament Choice. You can a ton of stuff in there too and it's only $30. Holds 5 370s and various pockets for nearly everything.
  7. Both are on the Outdoor Channel. Commandos could be better, but I really like the idea behind it.
  8. I really can't get enough of this. For better or worse, these guy's personalities really come out with this format. Denny Brauer and Greg Hackney had me cracking up constantly. I loved it when Iaconelli was screaming like crazy after catching a nice fish, then it switched to Hackney and you could hear Ike going off. Hackney then proceeds to say "if he was my kid, he'd be getting a spanking right now" lol.
  9. In a sport that has cocky D bags like Edwin Evers, Skeet Reese, and the child like Iaconelli, I love that he won gracefully and with a little class. He didn't jump around, he didn't dance, he just accepted his trophy, said thanks and that was that. He gained me as a fan that day.
  10. I really enjoy watching MLF, Timmy Horton Outdoors, and that fishing commandos show where 2 guys go out on a lake they've never fished and try to put together a pattern.
  11. I started fishing when I was 5, I'm 35 now. Got away from it for awhile when my dad passed, as it was OUR thing. Now I'm slowly getting back into, but it's tough. I'm used to fishing the waters of Florida, and now I have to adapt to a huge rocky, deep, murky reservoir.
  12. Despite me buying 2 packs of Sick Fish during the Spring Classic sale, I will not buy anything that has the words "Skeet" and "Reese" on them. I can stomach Iaconelli, Aaron Martens, and Edwin Evers, but I cannot stand Skeet Reese. Seems like a total D-Bag, but I'm sure a little bit of that is all about "marketability".
  13. Had many sit next to me expecting a free drink. Woman, get back up there show me what you got! This is my drink!
  14. I gotta break out the "fairy wand" for the lighter baits. I just can't toss them on my Revo S or STX without having to pick out a nice thick back lash. Almost all of my jerkbaits, except for the 5/8oz versions get thrown on spinning gear.
  15. I tried using my MH Veritas for crank baits, and ended up ripping the hooks out of the fish's mouth even with an easy hook set. Lost quite a few fish on that rod. My wife has a MH cheapo Shakespeare excursion that has a VERY soft tip, and I was using that for all of my crank baits until I just picked up a M 7ft Veritas, which despite being a M rod it is quite a bit more stout than that Excursion. Never lost a fish on that cheapo rod, and landed a nice 4.8lb smallie on it, as well as quite a few others and never once lost a fish. Abu rods are stiffer than rated though but I think this M fast action Veritas will be great for open water fishing, but no way can you use a MH Veritas for anything but deep cranks unless you want your lure flying back at you.
  16. I bought two packs, but have yet to fish them. I have one rigged up on a 1/2oz chatterbait just waiting though.
  17. Our tanks sucks compared to other BPS.
  18. I think all abu rods are a little heavier than their rating. My M Vendetta and my mh veritas all seem way stiffer than rated. Haven't fished my m veritas just yet though.
  19. I Just got a 7" m veritas for cranks up to 5/8oz.
  20. Lol. It looked real to me.
  21. I have one up that is about 5 minutes long. I was filming and got a phone call that interrupted my video so it's split into. The one that is up is the last five minutes of the seminar, and the first 22 minutes is what I still need to upload. We have slow internet at the house and that file is over a gigabyte so I'm gonna wait until tonight and upload at work. I tried to last night here at the house and some how it got interrupted at at 63% and wouldn't resume. I'm trying it again now just for s&gs and it's at 71% so it may be up in the next couple hours. I will post up Timmy Horton's seminar as well, even though it wasn't real informative lol.
  22. Been watching MLF, and I gotta say I really like it. I love that all fish that are keepers go towards the total weight and not just the best 5. Watched an extended episode that I had already seen on their website, and enjoyed it immensely. You really got to see more in depth stuff than what the Outdoor Channel shows, and you can really see the personalities of Greg Hackney, and Denny Brauer really shine. I never laughed so hard at a fishing show. I might spend the cash for all of the extended episodes. It was that good. Anyone else drinking the MLF kool-aid??
  23. Yeah I agree. Considering the trash that ESPN shows on their network now, the live coverage or timely coverage of the Classic would have helped redeem them.
  24. I couldn't believe I found a good Veritas on the rack yesterday. It must have been freshly stocked, because the other 2 I looked at were messed up. One had the clear coat peeling off in a spot and the other one had a collar that looked like it had been raked against the concrete. I actually found my 7" M mixed in with the 6"9 rods. BPS needs to just have one rod out on the floor of each model, and keep the stock in the back so we can actually get rods that aren't scraped up or beaten to death. The guide issue when it comes to alignment is totally on Abu though.
