  1. You got it. It's a great reel and is capable of being dialed in to fish any wait or conditions. Sometimes I turn off the brake blocks and just use the magnetic system for lighter baits. You'll love it.
  2. I eye ball these every time I'm at BPS, but have yet to give them a go. Hope you catch some big ones so I can go out and buy a few lol.
  3. The screw head will be silver and be on the handle side of your reel. Unscrew that, you should be able to by hand, and once you back it all the way out you need to hold the screw back because it's spring loaded. If you just loosen the screw and try to take off the sideplate, it won't budge. You have to pull back on it. Once you do that, twist the side plateTOWARDS you which will be UP, and pull it off. There you will find the spool with the brake tabs. Engage as many as you need, most people only need two on, and close her back up. If you're still having trouble I will make a video for you since I have the same reel.
  4. Thanks for The help guys.
  5. I don't but they are definitely on my list. I think they would work outstanding.
  6. I've got a few Boogees and I haven't had any issues with their durability. I also have yet to catch a fish on them though. In muddy water I would throw the bigger profile spinnerbait but thats just me.
  7. The centrifugal brakes are located under the sideplate with the dial on it. I use those brakes with only 2 of the tabs engaged and adjust my spool tension accordingly. The spool tension knob is the little black knob trimmed in silver by the handle. Obviously the dial controls the magnetic brakes, but I hardly ever use those unless it's windy.
  8. You guys are missing out if you don't give the *** rods a try. Man they are sweet.
  9. Most of us use a trailer with these baits, and I was wondering if any of you trim the skirt back a little to help with trailer action?
  10. I definitely need to get some 1/2oz or 3/4 heads, because our fish stay deep here on Douglas.
  11. So are my 1/4oz scroungers too small for bass?
  12. I got about $17 on my BPS Outdoor rewards card, so I'll pick up a few packs with that. Our Academy sucks compared to everyone else it seems. Any time I go to the one in Knoxville, there aren't any deals going on. Rod selection sucks too. The only thing about Academy is that our BPS will price match them, so if those subwoofers are on sale online too, I can get them for cheap at BPS too.
  13. I'll run by BPS tomorrow and nab some then for sure.
  14. My favorite pro has to be Greg Hackney. That dude can fish, and is just a flat out blast to listen to. I'd love to fish with that guy. Just a cool dude. The MLF format really let's these guys personalities shine through. For guys like Ish, Hackney, Grigsby and other guys that just have fun out there it's great. For guys like Edwin Evers or Dean Rojas, it's not as great since their personalities kinda suck.
  15. Are you trying to will LMG to come back? Please don't.
  16. This. They are quality at a bargain price. The only issue I've had with them, is that Normans are the only cranks that I consistently have to tune right out of the package. The Deep Little Ns especially. I have a bunch of the new NXS Normans, and those suckers are sweet and run true right out of the package.
  17. I picked up some Luck E Strike pre rigged scrounger jigs tonight at Wally world for $3 a pop. They are the 1/4oz heads with the skirts and pre rigged green flukes. I think they are the "long bills" if I'm not mistaking. Can these be fished deep even though they are only a 1/4oz since they have the long bill, or does bill size not have anything to do with depth? I've never tried these and know very little so if anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
  18. They are something else. I usually don't go for rods made by companies that aren't established, but I just couldn't resist with the Omens after hearing praise after praise for them. Had my local tackle shop actually been able to get my Villain in, I would've never even thought of buying an ***. Glad it worked out for me lol. Awesome rods.
  19. After getting that *** Wednesday, I can't even look at another rod. Except the *** of course lol.
  20. I'm sure we all have a favorite pro for one reason or another, so who is you guy and why?
  21. For the Boogee baits I use some Rage Tail grubs, and for my chatter baits I've been sticking with the trailers that come with them. I will try the subwoofers though and see what I can do. thanks for the tip.
  22. Well hopefully the gen 1s work out well for everyone. I really liked mine, and thought they were great rods. For $30 I don't think you can beat it.
  23. My apologies guys. I thought these were the V2s since the description and pic that walmart.com posted were of the V2. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up.
  24. I like him. Yeah he gets a little "hip hop" sometimes, but he seems like a good dude and he always looks like he's having fun. When he's not tossing his rod and reel in the lake that is lol. My least favorite guys on MLF have to be Edwin Evers and Dean Rojas. They just seem like jerks.
