  1. See what happens when friends let friends get a Shimano? Derailed threads. Had I just swapped my S for a new one, it would be all kittens, rainbows, and puppies.
  2. Clearly you weren't around for all of LMG's Shimano posts. And what more do you wanna read? Rock had questions and it devolved into me getting a Shimano and LMG making a special guest appearance. No need to stick around for the end credits.....
  3. It's ruined lol??? Oh no....a ruined thread....Sorry Rock.
  4. No popcorn needed. Hopefully he went back with Tom Cruise on the mother ship.
  5. I do the same thing when I'm out fishing by myself. Although my music is a little more intense than George Straight. Try walking the dog to some Godsmack lol!
  6. Experience is one thing, but cramming your belief in a product down people's throats isn't the way to do it. I'm happy with my Revos, but I've had a few problems with the S model and felt it was time to move on from that reel. I took Rockchalk's word for it that the Chronarch would be the way to go because he didn't constantly pester me or other members on what the Chronarch had to offer in every thread. He also had significant time with the new Revo S, and I knew he wasn't biased. I'm sure you're an ok guy off these boards, but on them you make people want to wear tin foil hats to block out your nonsense.
  7. Apparently the guides on the Veritas are not true micro guides which I didn't know, so I guess since I haven't used a true micro guide rod my post is moot.
  8. Yep. They are ok for weight savings, but they are all hype IMO.
  9. I don't have to explain anything to my woman lol. And I won't be needing any knee pads. I won't be turning into some D bag fan boy any time soon. I spent a few hours tonight on the water with it, and I wasn't blown away. I didn't flush the bearings though, and I was in a hurry and over spooled it a bit so I can't make an honest assessment just yet. We're so glad you're back......
  10. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves lol. I have SERIOUS doubts that the Chronarch will unsurp my Gen 3 STX as my main squeeze. It MIGHT out perform the Gen 3 S I took back, but we will see. Spooling it up here in a few then going out on the lake. This thing better cast to the moon and back or you guys are getting a flaming bag of poop on your door step lol.
  11. Welcome to the dark side I guess...
  12. I don't know if it's fate, or Abu's bad qc, but my S has developed an issue with the brakes and is going back to bps. The pitch brakes always engage themselves on every cast and it's killing my distance. I have a buddy who's mom is a lead associate there and she is gonna let me return it. If they will let me, I may be coming home with a chronarch. MAY.
  13. Your logic always costs me money lol.
  14. It's in my cart on BPS.com, but I've yet to pull the trigger. Trying to find justification for the purchase, but my Revos are performing great now. Plus I don't have a rod to throw it on. Hmmm...
  15. Yeah the 201e6 is the one I was looking at. Is the casting distance really leaps and bounds ahead of the Revos???
  16. So what's the difference between the 200e6 and the 201e6? On BPS' site, the specs are the same. EDIT: Never mind. Guess it's retrieve options?
  17. I really like the dual brakes on my STX though. Especially when it's windy and I need to do a little more fine tuning. It's hard to pull the trigger when I'm happy with my Revos, but I kind of wanna see if they live up to the hype. I'm looking at the e6 if I get one. Weight isn't a huge issue to me, as I think my S is 7.4oz. I may try to sell off my new SX and Vendetta 2 combo, and if I do, I may give the Chronarch a look though I hate that stupid handle. Bend it already lol!
  18. Go 10# yo zuri hybrid. I like it better than the 12# personally .
  19. I'm an Abu guy still, but I've debated on picking up a chronarch. My Abus are tanks though, especially my Revo S. If the Chronarch surpasses my STX I will be surprised. Bps has their 6 Pay deal right now so I may take a peek.
  20. Nice gear doesn't catch you fish, that's for certain. I remember as a kid I had a friend that had every pair of Air Jordan's ever made. And every time we played basketball he dribbled off his foot lol. Having nice gear is great, but in this sport/hobby it's not required to be successful.
  21. I have a guy at my work that always tries to make me feel bad for having nice stuff too. Just seems like jealousy on his part, or makes him feel like he's some how inadequate when it comes to fishing. It's not my fault his wife has him by the cajones and the wallet and won't let him buy better gear.
  22. No one question's Rock's credibility. He's one of the best members this site has.
  23. Drag is fine on my stx.
