  1. You definitely need to get your hands on an ***, because the reel seat isn't for everyone.
  2. You'll be amazed at how well your reel will balance with the ***.
  3. I actually thought about my chronarch/crucial combo as a dedicated cranker, as I'm finding myself throwing more and more lipless and deep cranks. I've still got my SX and STX on MH/F rods, so those could be relegated to worm/jig combos I guess. So should I go with the 7'MH M/F Crucial for cranks?
  4. I'm gonna pick up a Crucial to stick my Chronarch on, and I'm unsure what to get since the Crucial line is pretty technique specific. I wanted the 7'2 MH, but that xtra fast tip won't work well with cranks. They have another 7'2 MH that has a fast tip, but it's only rated up to a 3/4oz lure and I use 6Xds a ton in the summer for deep cranking and those weigh an ounce. So now I'm looking at the 7'MH with a moderate/fast tip which will be good for cranks, but would the tip be too soft for worms and jigs?
  5. I'm a day late, but snagged a Chronarch 201e6 after my Revo S developed a problem yet again.
  6. I like the palomar for all of my needs, but I can't tie one without an over abundance of tag left so I waste a bunch of line every time I retie. Went to dual locks to fix that.
  7. *** ***! I have a Veritas and the *** blows that rod out of the water. You absolutely cannot go wrong with the ***.
  8. I've had a similar experience with Spike It. Melted the claws right off of my craw.
  9. Bring you some wet napkins when you look through them. They are on clearance because there is more oil on the outside of the bag than on the inside lol.
  10. Then Sexy Shad, Chartreuse black back, and power blue back chartreuse. Just 3??? Lend me some will power will you?? lol
  11. If I may suggest trying out the NXS cranks by Norman. I may like them more than the 5xds, and they have some great colors.
  12. Citrus shad and powder blue back chartreuse are my 2 favorites. Also I use sexy ghost minnow, chartreuse shad, black back chartreuse and sexy shad. Neon Blue gill is good too.
  13. Generally for bait casters i stick with 12# line. For spinning reels, 8#. 12# line is a good all around line IMO.
  14. Just by judging it's line capacity, I'd say that's a reel for finesse fishing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, as I was looking at the specs on Amazon.
  15. Gonna be flushing some bearings, and I see some people use acetone and some use Ronsonol Lighter Fluid. Which one is better to use?
  16. That can do it. How much longer until you're out for the summer? Here in TN, there's less than a week for most schools.
  17. Thanks to this board I've started to try these out. Like JT said, you can work it like a crank and not get hung up.
  18. This. I tend to work my baits way too fast, and when I make an concerted effort to slow down...bam I get a hook up. Another thing I learned, and have been putting to good use, is color selection for the water clarity or cloud cover. It's like putting a puzzle together every day out on the water, and it feels great when the pieces start to fit. I credit this to all I've learned on this site, and it's members.
  19. You're fine buddy. No offense taken. At the end of the day, despite what brands we use we are still after the same thing: giant bass. And calling someone a "tool" nowadays pretty much equates to calling them a "doo doo head".
  20. I had a few Shimanos when I was younger, but it's my first in probably 20-25 years. I'm used to Revo centrifugal brakes, so using the ones on the Chronarch took a few minutes to find the sweet spot. I have 3 on and less spool tension. At first I had 2 on and just enough tension to eliminate side to side play in the spool and was fine, then I'd get a random back lash. So that's when I went to 3 on. Casts nice for sure. I think the bearing kit for mine is about $30.
  21. I did for a few hours yesterday. Flushing the bearings straight away is always a good idea, as they are always over lubed. I'm thinking of slapping some Boca Orange seals in it as well.
  22. I'm gonna have to utilize some of these tips for my Chronarch e6 I just bought.
  23. I believe it's all in good fun, though it does get testy sometimes. I'm pretty sure LMG and I are cut from the same cloth, as we both seem to try to get a rise out of people for our own amusement. I have nothing personal against the guy, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use the "tool smiley". As far as him or I ruining this thread.....nah. Can't fault him for him for saying "I told you so" when it comes to Shimano, as I've been known to be an Abu guy though I'm not brand loyal at all. Had he bought an Abu I would've done the same thing lol.
  24. Yeah the Ducketts are tiny. Like threading a needle. I can see how those would increase sensitivity.
