  1. Nab 2 *** Omens rods. Best bang for the buck out right now, and just plain nice rods.
  2. Their crankbaits are great quality in my experience. Great value. I haven't used any of their other stuff, but if their cranks are any indication I wouldn't bat an eye about picking some up.
  3. Wow. Gotta either be a plastic worm, or a red eye shad in chartreuse baitfish for me. I'm more of a power fisherman so I guess the red eye shad.
  4. Mine is KVD and Greg Hackney. I like KVD because we are from the same area and he just seems like an all around good guy. Met him at our local BPS last year and he was very down to earth and helpful. And Hackney....how could you NOT like the guy? He's hilarious and he catches everything.
  5. I LOVE my Chronarchs. Caught a lot of nice fish with them and have 0 issues out of the 3 I own. Been looking at the Curado I but online and at my local BPS they are always out of stock. Has anyone fished with both of these that can give me a heads up on how the compare with each other?
  6. Centrifugal over mag brakes all day, though a dual braking system like what's found on the REVO STX is the absolute best of both worlds as it allows you to easily throw anything in your tackle box.
  7. DVT is right. I've yet to see any reels that don't have at least a little play in them, though some more than others.
  8. No just the Chronarch. The Chronarch on a Compre rod didn't have any issues. I still think it was the frame of the reel flexing a Tad initially though. The wearing of the tolerances fixed it but still frame flex is what I still think.
  9. I Took both Chronarchs to BPS and tried them on a few different Crucials and still had the issue of the side plate not wanting to open easily. It turned out to be the tolerances between the reel body and the side plate evidentally as Rockchalk suggested, as a few outings with the reels the issue went away. Still odd that it only occurred with the chronarch and crucial rods. There was never an instance where anything was technically defective though.
  10. Go with the Clarissa. Very nice rod for the money and it's backed with a lifetime guarantee.
  11. I jumped ship from Abu awhile back. And I did give them every opportunity to make things right. Reel after reel failed, or more specifically the braking system and the thumb bars didn't want to reengage on my SX or STX. My S had the constant issue with the brakes. Went Shimano and haven't looked back.
  12. Love my 2 Chronarchs. So much so I decided to skip the Ci4+.
  13. I love Strike King. That Rage Blade has my name all over it.
  14. Everyone on here knows about my battles with my new Revos, and how much I loved fishing with them. And despite those issues, I still recommend them with a warning to watch for the issues I had. I don't look at this as hating on Abu reels, I look at it as helping others so they don't go through the struggles I did.
  15. Did I mention the "S word"? No. You guys are blowing my comment waaaaaay out of proportion.
  16. A lot of butt hurt guys in this thread. I don't hate Abu reels, as everything up til now has been flawless for me. More and more issues seem to pop up daily too. If I didn't have experience with 3 of the 4 new Revos I would stay out of Abu threads. But I do, and I will share my experiences with whomever I choose. It's not like I'm pimping other brands or saying "this is better than Abu". Calm down.
  17. Crazy to see that the Orra SX is now a msg brake only reel. Guess they wanted to widen the gap between the Revos S.
  18. Meh. I'll just end up having to return these like I did my Revos. Abu(lost me)For Life.
  19. Had a chance to meet a few pros. KVD, Timmy Horton, and Rick Clunn. Pretty coo.
  20. This. Out of a billion reviews I read before pulling the trigger on mine, I didn't see any mention of any breakage. Like Ricky Bobby says, if you're not first, you're last!
  21. I tried to use some dual locks on my cranks, but most of my lures that had that nice tight wobble ended up getting more of a wide wobble to them. I was killing bass on red eye shad tying to the split ring, but when I used the dual locks that tight wiggle was gone and didn't catch one bass. Ended up putting all of my split rings back on and ditched the dual locks.
  22. I like a black and red spinner bait at night as well. Usually one with a large colorado blade(s) for more thump.
  23. Great news for me. Bad news for my wallet.
