I didn't realize you guys were posting on here. Very cool. I was out on Tuesday with my son on Van Sciver. We got 7 he got most of them throwing a wacky rigged finesse worm on a 1/8 wacky jig. They started hitting better with the water calling down a bit but looks like the warm weather is on again.
Sometimes the weight will cut the line if to thin. I use a VMC spinshot hook and on the sinker line I use a higher lb test floro like 17lb. this helps me lose less weights.
That looks just like my live target mouse. Other then the tiny human hand that's in there also. I have never caught a bass that had a live mouse in her but have caught lots on my topwater mouse. Thanks for posting that.
I have always just wacky rigged senkos but was wondering if I'm missing out by not using finesse worms or trick worms. Are there times when using these work better then senkos? I always rig weightless with a senko. Should I put a finesse or trick worm on a wacky weighted jig to get some depth? Any info. Is appreciated.
It took my girlfriend a long time to learn how to set a hook. Other then a soft hook set I think the single biggest problem was my wife leering at her from the back of the boat. My wife sets the hook like nobody's business!
It could be lamprey eggs were on the spine. If you feel the urge to latch onto something living and suck all the blood out of it you might want to see a doctor. I always seem to get spiked by those crazy white perch while taking them off the hook.
That was an awesome event held on some of us northern guys home waters. A very tough river to learn with the tides. We showed up in force to support all of the elite anglers and were very glad to see one of us northern boys take it. And yes we are a hard working very passionate crowd. Some of the anglers were videoing the crowd when they walked on state for weigh in because they have not seen anything like that before. Lots of fun. Thanks for sharing that link.
Hmmmm... Let's see... A one.... A two...... A three..... Three. How many states does it take to catch the bass of a lifetime the world my never know..... For all you older heads.
For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every bass is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver. Stay Golden Ponyboy......
what? I don't know. I've never seen any pink worms drop out of the sky but I have caught bass on them. If they think it's food they will eat it. Try to turn over some rocks where you fish and you should find some crayfish.
I don't think I will ever have that dilemma where I fish. Not to many DD bass here. I'm a pic guy and not even a real camera pic guy. I use my iPhone so I can send it to people. I'd go replica if given the chance.
There is an elite series Tournement on the Deleware river this weekend. This is big for us northern guys we usually only get to see these guys on TV. Last week my buddy was pulling out and Skeet Reese was next to him. We have seen some of the pros throughout the summer all over the river. My question is should I put the boat in the water and follow some of these guys or should I go to Penns Landing in Phila. Where the weigh in is? One of my buddies is going to be a Marshall for them. We are all pulling for Iaconelli the local favorite. You have to know how to fish the tide in this river but there are some big bass in there going by northern standards. Our wives are thinking we are a little crazy with us being so excited about this event.
