Guys, I was on Van Sciver today a got 4 bass. All on a slow rolled spinnerbait. They would not hit anything else. Tried jerks, jigs, blades and cranks. Could have sunk the boat with perch on the blade bait. The carp kill was smelly in spots also. Good luck
Have any of you guys used blade baits with feathers? I just picked up some of these and was wondering. I'm thinking they will work. Let me know your thoughts.

Doesn't anyone fish to get away from their wife and kids anymore? Lol! Just kidding. I fish to relax and to be with family and friends. There's a whole different perspective being on the water that only fishermen will value.
I got the bass pro one that looks like a fish with the chains. I attached it to a 25 foot retractable dog leash. It works like a charm. I pull out the line and lock it then retrieve the lure and retract the leash. It does not get tangled and is easy to deploy and store. I hope this helps.
I rig it like most people. It never tangles and I have caught a boat load of fish on it. Most of my fish come on the shorter fluke. I also use flouro so that might help not tangling being a little stiffer. You can't go wrong.
I'm in the 3/8 oz. black & blue jig camp. We should pick one day a year to only bring 1 rod and 1 bait out and see how well we all do. Glen picks the day. Let's call it " let us never forget our roots day or something". Sorry guys I have too much time on my hands sometimes. Who's in!!!!????
I was out on Saturday and got 3 nice ones on a spook. I got 6 dinks on a creature bait. I was out early today and only managed 2 dinks before I gave up due to the wind. Nice work finding them in the wind. I do well on The pointer "sexy Chartruse shad" on Van Sciver running the banks. I really had to learn to slow it down and fish it on a slack line. Less is more in cold water.
There are some bass starting to come up shallow. I was out yesterday and got 10 on a swimbait running the banks. It was too windy to fish the humps. Lucky craft pointer 78 is money there when the water gets cold.
I'm feeling an ice free winter again up here and would like some suggestions on a good self inflating PFD that won't break the bank. I wear my Kayak PFD now but would like something less bulky. Buy the way me and Puxatony Phil are buddy's so I on the money with the ice free thing. Thanks guys.
I fish up until the lake freezes and then through the ice. The year before last the lakes did not ice up so I had the boat out all year. Last year seemed like it iced early and stayed last.
I wonder if the wind was blowing from the east and there was a red sky at night??? I bet some type of fishng vortex would take place. I believe it is associated with a cold front but I fish when I can except for tornados.
I keep some gear in my SUV and some in my boat and some in my truck. I usually plan a trip but if I find time I will go to a lake, pond, river or creek near me. About an hour ago I went to a lake down the street from where I work to throw my new Lews Speed spool I got and lined it up with a Spinnerbait. There was one guy on the dock and he must have thought I was nuts walking up in a shirt and tie. I cast 8 times and landed about a 3 lb bass. I said out loud "OK that works well" and left to go back to work. That guy really must have thought I was crazy. True story. I guess I'm always ready to fish.
We fish blade baits all the time when the water is 60 or below. We catch a lot of fish on these. We like the Binsky Blade the best with Bass Pro Lazer blade a close 2nd. From Pike to large and small mouth to giant Crappie to perch you never know what you will get but you will always get something. A fun cold water bait.
