  1. Depending on the size of the worm. Usually a 3/0 screw lock.
  2. If you want to swim a ribbon tail worm through weeds put it on an 1/8 oz. belly weighted swim bait hook. Texpose the hook. Money!
  3. We caught the same bass 3 times today. We were calling it by name because it only had one eye. We named it one eye. (Original I know) unless there are 3 different 3 lb. bass with one eye in the same spot we caught the same fish in 1.5 hours time. I was always told once a fish is caught it take some time before they will bite again. Not the case here. Wonder if it was because he only had one eye.
  4. I use plastic so I can reuse to hold all the fillets I get after dynamiting the fish to the surface. I certainly don't care.
  5. We had it on a 1/4 oz. tube jig. We were using green pumpkin varieties
  6. My son hooked up dragging a tube on the bottom of the lake today. I was dragging a football jig and nothing. When I switched to a tube I started hooking up also. All largemouth there are no smallmouth in this lake. We were just dragging slowly sometimes they would hit it sitting still. Anyone else ever drag a tube like this? We ended the day with 22. A very effective technique that I never tried before.
  7. Hey man I have a Ronco pocket fisherman and some banjo minnows. I'm going to start working on the wife to let me pull the trigger. I will keep you guys posted.
  8. I like the octopus hook better then the circle octopus when wacky rigging. I seem to hook up more on the octopus.
  9. The mega strike shakey head has been my go to this summer. They are far and away the best on the market. I have been having some very good days on them with a finicky tickler by power team lures in green pumpkin. I am fishing them in 12 to 18 feet of water. Let the fish tell you want they want you can shake it, drag it slowly, hop it or even swim it. One very effective lure when bass are in the summer pattern. Hope this helps.
  10. This especially the shaky head.
  11. Holy crap! You guys make those smallmouth look like goliath grouper! I Want me some of those in any color variety! It seems like most of the smallmouth I catch around here in the Deleware River are of the darker variety and much smaller. Rocky bottom.
  12. I'm looking for the best bait you guys use for suspended fish. I have a lot of shad roaming around now and am seeing fish suspended. Any info. Would be great.
  13. I'm a big fan of the spiderman spin caster for the 6 year old I take out although the batman rod did out fish the spiderman rod 3 to 1 the other day. On occasion when a finess presentation is needed we use the Barbie combo with great success. We stay away from The expensive Japanese combo Pokémon because we are not that advanced. I don't go crazy with the youngsters really just passing rods down as they get more advanced. Salt and fresh water are 2 diffrent animals.
  14. Am I missing out by not throwing a Jerkbait in the summer? I just have never done this but know some guys do with success. Does anyone out there throw a jerkbait in the summer or should I just wait until fall?
  15. I'm going to try draging a 10 inch worm at night and was wondering what the best braid that would show up under a black light would be? Or any other line that you guys use with a black light would be helpful also. Any info. Would be great I'm new to this technique.
  16. They are man made lakes.
  17. I'm feeling the ugly otter nowadays.
  18. What is your best or favorite Deepwater tactic for summer fishing. I want to get more into this and need a little info. It is drop shot, Carolina rig, football jig, deep cranking or somthing else. I have the equipment with side scan and a minn Kota spot lock motor so I'm ready. I just need to man up and stay out there searching and not go and beat the banks like I always do if I don't have any success. Some guys just are natural deep water fisherman. I stink at it. Any info is appreciated.
  19. That make no sense to me. They would only be allowed to kill their daily cereal anyway. I would think smallmouth and perch would be food for lake trout and salmon anyway.
  20. Wow. I've been lucky so far I guess. I also swing in from the trees and open carry a bow and arrow while screaming nonsensical sayings. I let everyone know I'm nucking futz! But seriously I'm glad they didn't rob or hurt you. Seen too much to carry a wepon anymore. I'm done with all that.
  21. I don't drink while on the boat and never really have. I just find it too much fun being out on the water and taking everything in while fishing or just cruising. Don't get me wrong I like to drink like a Viking at times and raise some Cain but not while on a boat. Beside I have seen too many boaters being towed by the state police or coast guard while in hand cuffs riding in their boat with the Orange life vest on to be made an example of. I also think the blood alcohol content level is lower on the water so like 2 beers puts you over the limit. That seems like waste of time to me.
  22. Great article. Thanks for posting this. It will help my tube game for sure.
  23. Good stuff guys. If Shaw doesn't peg I guess I won't either. I'm glad I asked. Intresting what he said about the Deleware River. That is one of my home waters.
  24. I use tungsten bullet weights and always peg them. Am I missing somthing by always pegging my weights? Are there times when not pegging would be better? I'm just not sure I started pegging and just always do it. Any info. Is appriciated.
