  1. Yes go fishing and dress warm in layers. If you can fish a LC pointer 78 in sexy Shad and a blade bait. Silver if sunny gold if cloudy. Go with the attitude that you will catch something. Cover ground and cast the heck out of those 2 lures. If there are any fish in the lake you will catch something. I'm fishing tomorrow also and every time I catch a fish I will say to myself I hope that guy in Ohio in doing what I'm doing. ?
  2. I must be lucky. I fish and help people as much as I can. I've seen fisherman that are cranky and way to serious. Last time I checked none of them were pros. I just kind of laugh to myself and move on. For me Fishing is about way more then catching fish. It's about going out enjoying some of God's work and good company. About laughing and bonding with my sons. It's about trying to figure out the puzzle and concentration. It's about things that the guy who thinks he's better then you will never know. Don't feel sorry for them it's their choice. You just have fun and relax. Tight lines.
  3. I fish with my wife. When I'm power fishing on top she is usually finesse fishing on the bottom. And vice versa.
  4. Try this. Take a length of weed eater line and push it up through the pee hole (on the motor). This has cleared my blockage more then once. ( on the motor) If it starts coming out stronger you are good to go. Good luck.
  5. Me too! Back to my LC pointers I go!
  6. Green pumpkin and black/blue is all I need.
  7. I remember my first bass fondly. It was 4 wives ago, three boats ago, 2 pickups ago and 1 chartreuse square bill Crankbait ago. You are hooked now! Have fun!
  8. Wait it's the end of November? Crap I always fish on Black Friday to get 2 bass for one deals. Just kidding. It's time for jerkbaits, bladebaits, slow dragged swimbaits and the a-rig. I love this time of year and catch some real slobs. Just remember to slow everything down.
  9. I like to wait until it warms up a bit in the day when I go fishng in the fall. I go around 11:00 and until 3 or 4. I also spend a lot of time looking for shad in my boat. I don't fish until I find the shad. I played the fishing from memory game way too long before I learned this.
  10. Yea boy! Getting it done! That was a great trip. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Talk about a hog! Wow that looks silly. Nice fish.
  12. Wow! Great catch! I'd be smiling for days also.
  13. I'm going to upgrade some of my spinnning rods and was looking at the Fenwick Elite ML. Does anyone have any experience using this rod? If not any other rod suggestions? Is the St Croix legend that much of a better rod? I don't mind spending the extra money if it's worth it. Any info. Is appriciated.
  14. My kids and guest use Senko's a lot. Last year we saved all the torn up ones and I made a mold plaster of paris. I got a microwave off of Craig's list for $20.00 and used a Pyrex cup to melt them in my garage. I poured into the mold and made Stick baits. They are flat on one side but the fish don't know that. I just keep all the dark colors together and all the light colors together. They work like a charm and gave me somthing fishing related to do in the winter. bought a bottle of plastisol and mixed in a little and on some batches I ground up some salt really fine and added that. Always keep the door open and use a mask and wear long sleeves and gloves if you decide to do this.
  15. I'm going to give the Alabama rig the college try this year. I have never thrown this and am wondering what the best way to use it would be. I have the gear to properly throw it. Just wondering where to start and what retrieve would be best. I'm fishing a medium sized man made lake. Any info. Is appriciated.
  16. I'm thinking closer to 6 lbs. Nice catch!
  17. What is a good open water crank besides a lipless. Does anyone have any success without grinding cranks off the bottom or deflecting off of cover? If so what? Just wondering if I'm missing somthing.
  18. I was flinging my big dinger last night. My wife told me to go to sleep. I'll be here all week ladies and gentleman remember to tip you waitresses well!
  19. I will share information with guys at the ramp up to a point. Usually depth and technique. Never location. I can't imagine someone going through the stuff on my boat.
  20. My wife and I are going to Sanibel island for a couple of days in November and I always like to fish while she shells. What should I be using at this time of year? Live bait like shrimp or lures? Can I catch snook on top at this time of year? I hooked into a couple of snook and Reds last time I was there with shrimp but that was in the spring. I don't have much experience fishing here but really like it. Any info. Is appriciated.
  21. It's a good thing I live in the north! My hooks should only straighten out only 2 or 3 times a year. But seriously I have never had these hooks straighten out. I prefer light wire hooks also.
  22. I catch a lot of fish on the 90. I have used it 4 times and am a big fan. I threw a 130 but that just seemed like a monster and I didn't get any hit so I went back to the 90. I don't miss that many fish either. Try it you'll like it!
  23. I seem to do better with a spinnerbait in the fall and a Chatterbait in the spring. I was throwing a Chatterbait this morning and nothing. When I changed to a spinnerbait I started hitting them pretty good. Just to see if it was the area I was fishing I threw the Chatterbait again and nothing. Not sure why but it's the spinnerbait for me in the fall. Anyone else experience this?
  24. I get my tubes from E-bay 50 at a time. Inexpensive with lots of color and size options.
  25. Down side, that really stinks! Up side, with your wife not parking in the garage there is more room for tackle!
