  1. I've only owned one buzzbait in my life and have caught tons of bass on it but it finally broke down at the end of last year. I'm gonna buy a couple more soon and wanted to know what size you prefer? I believe I had a 1/4 ounce but not quite sure. I usually fish them though pads and bulrushes in 1-4 fow. Thanks, Joe
  2. I never bought the old one because if the tiny wooden handle (it's very small and hard to hold in my opinion). Once they put the new handle on I bought one and it's one of my favorite reels.
  3. Thanks! It worked, just ordered two over the phone at the sale price.
  4. Are these still on sale? I don't see a sale price listed online today or yesterday. Is it in store only?
  5. Thanks for all the great replies. I'm really leaning towards a Powell Max 734 right now and with a few months until the season I have time to search for a good deal on one. Joe
  6. 7' - 7'3" to fit in my rod locker. Not interested in another veritas. Joe
  7. I'm looking to get a new jig/t-rig rod and would like to stay under $150. What would you suggest? I currently am using a 7' MF Veritas and would like to get something with slightly more power. Will be using baits in the 1/4-3/4 oz range. Thanks, Joe
  8. What are rattles? Haha....I started tying my own jigs to save money because I lose too man to pike and rattles would defeat that purpose along with not believing that a rattle could catch a fish that a jig without wouldn't. Tried them out today and caught a couple...not a bad day after waking up to 31 F degrees!
  9. I tied them with 24 gauge floral wire. It took a few to get the technique down but once I got the hang of it it was quick and easy.
  10. What do you think? I was trying to make some bluegill and crawfish imitators.
  11. Just purchased a 7' Med Veritas Micro rod and a Shimano Citaca 200G7 and am awaiting its arrival in the next couple days while contemplating what line to spool it up with. I plan to use it for 1/4-1/2oz. jigs and t-rigs and I might throw a few spinnerbaits with it if need be. What line would you recommend? I fish moderate cover, usually weeds and some bullrushes. I was thinking 12-15 lb. fluorocarbon but have never used it for mainline and don't know exactly what to expect. What would you suggest? Joe
  12. Hello, my name is Joe and I'm a walleye fisherman from MN and have recently discovered a bass fishing addiction. Been getting a lot of great info from the site on all the new bass fishing equipment since my best bass rod is over 10 years old now. I'm in the market for a new rod and have been considering a Veritas since it feels like a lot of rod for the price and want to know which model you would recommend. The rod will be mostly a jig/worm rod and will be using lures up to 1/2 oz. I'm really trying do decide between the following two: 7' M/MF regular guides 7' M/F micro guide Any recommendations or recommendations for other rods that would compare for a similar price? Thanks, Joe
