i learned from my dad to hold the rod with my right hand and reel with my left (spinning tackle) so i assume i would also reel with my left with a bait caster. so why does everyone i see use a righty bait casting reel?

hey guys I'm heading up to a private lake in PA around early october to fish it with my dad. the lake is about 80 acres and weedy with brush islands sticking up out of the water in the middle of the lake. there are A LOT of small pike in the lake as well as bass. however, the past year or so we haven't caught a lot of bass but when we do catch a bass its a big one5-8lbs) so my question: how do i catch more bass when i know they are in there and keep the small pike away? p.s the lake is a sheet of glass in the evening and i usually throw topwater sometimes i get 30 strikes , but lately I've gotten nothing

I really want to take up spinnerbait fishing because i have heard how effective they can be. i have tried them from time to time with no success. i almost always use spinning tackle. the lakes i fish are mostly weedy. any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

weed edges, sandbars and rocks are great places to find smallies. my most successful smallmouth lure is a 4 inch senko. cast em out let them sink the the bottom then raise your rod tip about a foot and repeat

hey guys so this week im up at one of my favorite lakes and im fishing submerged weeds and logs. the water looks incredible but im not catching fish! im throwing senkos and swimbaits with no success! what am i doing wrong?

oh wow your right! how do i remove them?

have any of you guys ever used any hollow body swim baits like the yum money minnow? have you had any success? i have read mixed reviews but i was wondering what you guys think and how you were fishing them.

hey guys, the lake i fish gets fairly windy, i usually throw senkos when it is calm enough to fish them. what baits and lures should i use to catch fish?

what baits and techniques are good in fishing submerged weeds in 6-10 feet of water? the weeds are about 3-4 feet tall. i always kill them on senkos. i try to expand my arsenal such as jigs and lipless crank baits but i switch back to senkos after 20 minutes because i am not catching any fish. any ideas?

hey guys i am new to the forum! can't wait to read everyones Q+A's! so my first question to all of you is the following: I fish a big lake in northern michigan ( hamlin lake in ludington mi) i catch a lot of bass 1-3lbs. all on senkos! now every once in a while i will get a bigger bass but i want to consistently catch bigger fish and possibly one 5 or 6 lbs because i know they are in the lake. should i use big worms? what baits are good at catching big fish and lots of them? any recommendations would be great!
