  3. the lake is a 5000 acre lake with depths ranging from 2 to 80 feet. however i am mostly in the 6 to 10 foot range. the weather is usually partly cloudy with winds 10-15mph in the afternoon, but calm in the morning. cover available: big submerged grass beds, sandbars, and stumps

  8. the water is 4 to 8 feet deep depending on the spot, no open pockets really and the weeds are 1-2 feet below the surface
  9. ok the waters i usually fish are mostly submerged grass beds. i am trying to locate fish but it is not in completely open water with no cover. what would i use? I've had some luck with poppers in the past but never really tried a spook or buzz bait

    Hatcam

hey guys! i was just wondering if any of you have hatcams and how you like them? i just got one yesterday for the holidays and I'm super excited to start filming fishing videos with it!
  16. I've had the same problem you have. the two things that i learned was make sure you are using appropriate pound test line for your lure selection and to tie a solid knot. also make sure your line isn't frayed, that could be likely cause
  17. hello everyone! i was just wondering what is the deciding factor for you guys that tells you when to swim a jig as opposed to fish a jig on the bottom? both techniques seem like they would work GREAT in my home waters (submerged weed beds with great shoreline structure) and also what are your favorite trailers for each technique? if you could answer you would help me out a lot!! thanks! 18. by plastic do you guys mean swimbaits also?
  19. there are many ways to fish a swim jig. you can hop it, twitch it, burn it, kill it, whatever your imagination desires. as for tackle, you would pretty much use the same tackle as you would for spinnerbaits(MH rod, fast action with a good 6:3:1 reel and quality monofilament or whatever line you like.) as for trailers, i like rage tail and GY double tail grubs...i also like paddle tail swim baits
  20. well i can't sit still, so i am constantly changing lures
  21. i know its pretty much the opposite season, but i had a question about summer fishing. what would you guys use based on the following conditions: water clarity- slightly stained( visibility 3-6ft) forage-( perch and smaller minnows) time of year-(june-late august) time of day-(i usually fish from 7 to 10 in the morning then about 5 to 8 in the evening) structure-(submerged weeds with scattered wood) thanks!
  22. would the yo zuri be good for topwater? some people say it sinks.
  23. thank you i will just have to raise my confidence level!
  24. hi guys, I'm really curious about getting into fishing swim baits, especially the 6 inch weedless hudds. i have lots of perch in the lakes around here and i think the perch color would be perfect. however there is something that tells me i wont catch fish on them. do you think they are too big for fish averaging 2-4lbs? I just want to make sure i won't get skunked every time. ps i fish mostly in the summer thanks!!!
  25. hey guys! i was wondering what line you guys would recommend for throwing spinnerbaits, swim baits(no bigger than 1 ounce) and topwater i really only have on rod and i know its not ideal by any means. the rod is a 7 foot MH st croix mojo rod. would mono be a good choice? thanks
