  4. Hey guys just got back from my "secret pond" and had a decent morning with the new hudd! Started off the morning with a couple strikes but no hookups. That is the only problem with this bait.... After about 30 min stuck a 4lber along a rocky point, would've been a 6 if he was fat. But, she absolutely inhaled it! I also got to watch a 15 inch bass come up and absolutely crush my hudd in crystal clear water! I learned a lot about swimbaits today!
  5. Nice to break that bait in!! Good job! I'm still looking for my first 8 inch hudd fish

  8. Hey guys, Last weekend i went to a friends party and when my dad picked me up, he started talking with another man who is also a huge fisherman. He told us some secret spots that no one knows about and let me tell you, i am glad they talked! The best pond is about thirty acres in size and for years you were not allowed to fish it. It was stocked a couple years ago with only bass and some type of forage(not sure if it's bluegill or frogs or what) Anyway, this pond is so good that you could literally point to a spot ANYWHERE in the pond and say "i'm going to get a strike here" It was crazy! In two hours i caught over thirty bass ranging from 1-3.5lbs but i saw some HUGE northern strain bass, i'm not exaggerating when i say that i saw bass up to 25 inches and 8 pounds and i saw more that one! The pond is relatively clear with a bottom that mostly has some wood and stringy weeds(not the slop we commonly get) do you guys have any tips on how to get those monsters? I caught the biggest one of the day on a huddleston weedless shad, lost a 6+ on a 68 hudd, and caught about 20 bass on hollow body frogs off of the same grass mat!(i got some in open water too) Do you guys have any tips on how to catch these big ones? I plan on throwing more Hudds, but besides that? Thanks! This one went 3.5, i know some of you are looking and saying there's no way, but it was weighed on 2 different scales and was obviously bigger in person-caught her paralleling the bank( that's where most of my big ones came from!)
  9. What size split ring on this bait?
  10. Pictures don't truly highlight how pretty this bait is
  11. Here it is...Magnum jointed claw custom gill For the swimbait guys: This came with a snap, should i fish this bait with or without it?
  12. That's Awesome!
  13. Will do! Thanks for moving!
  14. Just purchased a limited edition bluegill magnum jointed claw from someone on SBN. I can't wait till it gets here.i am confident my pb will come on that or a huddleston... Will post pics when I get it!!!
  15. Will pickerel hit large lures such as big swimbaits?
  16. Those are some fine looking fish!! Great job!
  17. I feel that with big swimbaits, soft ones especially that every cast I have a better chance of hooking that monster. I'm sure others disagree. I might not get bit for awhile but I believe it will be worth it that day I can say my pb is 8lbs and yea I'm in Michigan
  18. they're out there my friend, I've seen more than one
  19. Believe me I will!! I will get her!
  20. Oh my god, just got back from a short evening trip to one of my favorite lakes and I can say I lost a fish that would have easily beaten my pb by a solid 3 pounds. We pulled up on a weed edge that was on the edge of a 25 foot drop off, cast my 8 inch weedless hudd( rainbow trout) and let it sink to the bottom. Start crawling it along the bottom and BAM this bass almost ripped the rod out of my hand, set the hook as hard as I can! I get the pig to the boat and look at it in amazement, this was easily an 8lb northern strain largemouth, she gets right up to my net, turns to dive and POP! Goes my hudd...hook popped out! Oh well, just another fishing story! I'll get her next time!
  21. I can't tell you how many big bass I've caught doing this.... Shhhh
  22. Don't know the water temps and as for forage, I just saw frogs! I saw so many it was crazy. I did not see a single minnow however that doesn't mean they aren't in there. Water clarity was about 3 feet. I only saw some signs of bass when I scared one near the bank and that's it. Course years ago this pond was full of big bass jumping, if it helps we did get heavy rain the night before
  23. Alright, So i have this pond about an acre in size and it is literally the BEST looking pond i have ever seen! Its full of lilly pads on both sides with open water in the middle, there is a drop off from about 1 foot to 15 feet. However there are THOUSANDS of little frogs and i feel like there wouldn't be that many if there were bass in there( i fished this pond once and saw lots of big bass jumping, this was a couple years ago and i went back today with NADA.) Whats up?? i tried everything! Swimbaits, hollow body frogs, senkos, spinnerbaits, traps What do you think? Thanks
  24. What were the conditions? What was the cover/structure like?
  25. 8 inch huddlseton slow rolled on the drop off...BOOM! fish on
