  1. Hey Everyone, I was wondering if someone could guide me in the right direction for shore-based fishing spots for sharks, jacks, and maybe some snook around the Delray Beach/Boynton/Ft. Lauderdale area. All the research I've done hasn't really lead me anywhere. Any advice is appreciated!
  2. savage gear shine glide! very affordable and gets whacked
  3. Dobyns champion extreme
  4. I used to think 12 inches was a big worm and now it’s one of my go to sizes
  5. Cardiff 300 or 400
  6. Nice fish! I have stayed close to UF for the most part, but many places I find are surrounded by houses so I can't legally fish.
  7. Is anyone familiar with the area that would be willing to share some spots that produce from the bank? I go to UF, so I am right in the heart of Gville. I have a car, so I can drive a bit if need be but im looking to stay within a half hours drive for some decent fishing. Thanks! I am used to the south florida ponds, where every pond has fish. I'm not sure if that is the case here, as I have tried ponds in apartment complexes with no luck.
  8. Hey guys, I don't wanna drop too much money at the moment, so I am torn between the okuma GS series A in the heavy version (1-6oz), the xtra heavy version (2-10oz) or the dobyns fury 806 (2-8oz). I will be mostly throwing hardbaits in the 2-4.5oz range, but also will throw a hudd 68 and maybe 8 inch. Can the dobyns /okuma xh handle the lighter baits in its range effectively? If so, im gonna go with one of those. Just seeing if anyone has input on one or both of these rods. Thanks Also, I emailed dobyns so ill see what they say if they respond.
  9. Hey guys, I am having a dilemma on picking a color for my gan craft 178 since I lost my older one. I am torn between yellow perch and real amago colors. I live in New York now, and we have tons of lakes and ponds with yellow perch, and I am sure the bass eat them. Trout are also stocked in some places. However, I feel like the real amago could potentially represent a wider variety such as trout, maybe even a smaller bass, and potentially even a yellow perch. The water clarity ranges from 2-3 feet visibility to quite clear. Any tips on how to decide? Does it not even matter?
  10. Hey everyone, Hoping some of the swimbait guys can help me on this one: What size hooks and split rings are on the standard size mattlures hardgill? Ive worn them out and they desperately need to be replaced. Thanks!
  11. Hello Bassresource, I am looking into buying a high end fishing kayak for next years season (Salt and Freshwater since I recently moved to Long Island). I have considered the hobie outback, Slayer propel, and a few others. Anyone who is an experienced kayak angler I would appreciate your 2 cents on any tips you can offer on the perks of kayak fishing, which models you like the best, and really any tips you think anyone about to buy their first fishing kayak should know. I am pretty set on buying one, I just have to make sure its the right one. Thanks!
  12. Gambler big EZ fished right under the surface over top of weeds. Nothing like seeing a monster wake behind your bait then having the bass explode on it. Killed the florida bass this past week on them.
  13. Between 100-150
  14. I love bass fishing and it is the fishing I do the most. But, my all time favorite type of fishing is flats fishing in the keys or foreign countries with light tackle for tarpon, barracuda, jacks, permit, etc... I also love the spring striper run on Long Island since I moved there last year
  15. I may stand out from the crowd here a little bit but I personally love fishing with a guide. Make sure you do your research on the best ones in the area and just go out and have fun. I have one guide in particular who is almost like a friend at this point. I enjoy when they fish while I do. I think I book trips with him not so I can find fish, but rather just enjoy the day and his company. LOL. Now he also happens to be a heck of guide and I have had some insane trips with him, so that helps :). Kick back, relax, and enjoy your day on the water! Also: It is important to do your research. Some of the "big name" guides I have heard and seen that they can be unpleasant and rude at times. The friendliest and most knowledgable guides I have fished with all over the world are not necessarily the ones that pop up first on google. Most importantly, keep your ears open, I learn something beneficial every time I fish with one.
