  1. hay thanks Joe for the information I have not checked out the feelfree Kayaks, I will look into them
  2. been looking at Kayaks with a peddle drive system. Old Town 106 and the 120 look real good to me. Nucanoe Unlimited is also looking good because it is wider than most at 41 inches and I love the seat that swivels . But have not head much about the pedal drive system that Nucanoe has. Is it too new and no one has used enough to give a report on how it works or is it because that it has been tested and no one likes it? Just wanting to know so I can make a decision on one so I can get a pedal drive Kayak. Thank you for any help that you can provide on this subject .
  3. I have a almost new St Croix, Mojo Bass, Drop Shot rod. It is 6 ft 9 in. I was fishing with it the other day and got a lure caught on a low hanging limb, so I was trying to get it unstuck and some how broke the rod tip. It is broke about half way between the end and the first guide down. Any thing I can do to be able to still use the rod, like make it a little shorter or am I just out a $100.00 rod? Is this a problem with St Croix rods or was I just unlucky that day, because other things went wrong that day as well. It was a Monday, but i did get out on the water for a couple hours. I was not pulling on it that hard, at least I did not think so. It is my first St Croix rod and I like it but really have just used it a few times so far.
  4. slonezp is right, that one looks like the one I have. they did not put it in the stock hole. They put it out towards the edge of the boat and back towards the driver more. If I get back up to the lake I can take a picture of it if U need me too. It is a little off to the side of where it was so the windshield is not in the way. I think it looks great. When I am done and want to cover the boat I take the Lowrance off the mount and losen the center knob and fold the ram mount in towards the boat, it works great.
  5. DelcoSol: the ram mount I have is the one that i can tighten and loosen in the middle and it can be moved on the top and or bottom, it must be at least 6 inches in between the top and bottom. Sorry I don't know which one that is, I bought it at the boat dealer and had them install it so I never saw the box it came in. The ability to be able to turn the unit around so I can see it front the front deck is great. Now I won't have to get a locator for the front, although I may someday.
  6. DelcoSol: I just got a Elite 7 HDI a few weeks ago and had it installed on my 09 Tracker Pro Team 170 TX, had to use a Ram mount because the size of the 7 HDI would not go where the original Lowrance unit did. It sets off to the side more but I really like it and I can turn it around so I can see it from the front of the boat when I am fishing. Just got out on the water this morning for a while and tested the 7 HDI out. Man i love the 7 inch screen and I mostly ran the split screen with the sonar and the HDI, it is great. The bigger screen is just great. Which ever fish finder you get the Ram mount is the way to go.
  7. I got a worm wallet a few weeks ago, it's nice and it makes finding my worms easy to find, but after putting in about half of what I have the worm wallet was full, well I had to take a few things out so I could close it. So my question is where do you store your plastic, ( worms, swim baits, jig trailers, etc), ? I also use the Plano box's for everything else and love them. Maybe I just need to get more worm wallets or start using the Plano box's to put my worms in. Any suggestions. Thank you for all your help and good advise
  8. I hace been looking at the collapsable rod type of lure retiever's, I see Timmy Horton has one but it is $90.00, Cabela's has one but the reviews are mixed on it. Bass Pro and Gander Mountain both have one that are around $40.00. So my question is do any of you ever use one and which one do you like? Thank you for your time .
  9. I have been wondering the same thing , they look like something I would like too try, just wish they made a left hand model. Any info would be great. How about their rods as well

    Mud Hole Rods

oops sorry people I haven't been coming here long and didn't realize there was a tackle making forum, should I post my question over there or just let be? I do want to thank you all for answering my question about rod building. What brand of bait casting rod dose everyone like the best?
  12. anyone try to build there own rods? Mud hole has kits to build your own custom rods, sounds kinda neat but I don't know just how hard it will be and how much it will cost in the end. Just wondering if anyone has done this and if they are happy with the kits? Are you happy with what you built? What brand of rods do you like the best? Or do you use one brand for a worm rod and another for crank baits, and another for spinner baits? I have All Star, Abu, BP for bait casting and a couple of Gander Mountain rods for spinning rods.
  13. first off I want to thank everyone for there reply, getting references is a great idea, I will try that. Man M-D U sure got lucky with that Lake Fork guide, I would have done the asme thing. I have found a couple guides on the web that I need to do more research on. Then there is this place called ReserveFishin.com and I have gone thru there sit and they have come up with 4 different guides, they are mostly guy's that fish in tournaments and guide on the side. The thing is I can't talk to the guide till I book the guide then they will put me in touch with the guide,. Kinda like the fact that they are semi pro's but I wish I could talk to them before choosing one of them. I agree with what a lot of U said about learning from someone else some different fishing things and this is another reason I am thinking about getting a guide. Thank you all again for your helpful replies
  14. Flying to Concord NC., in a couple of weeks to visit our son. I like to fish, and we have been there a few times in the past and got too fish a farm pond which was great, but now he doesn't have a place for us to go fishing. So I was thinking about trying out a guide, they would have a boat for us to fish from, they would know the water, I would more than likely learn a thing or two about bass fishing, and because we are flying I won't have my gear with me and from what I have read the guide lets you use his equipment, some charge for this service. But the price for the two of us for a day goes from $350.00 and up, kinda steep for one day and if the fishing is bad due to weather or anything else, it could turn out to be a lot of money down the drain. So my question is has anyone used a guide before and what do you think? Was it worth the expense? I am new to this forum and I really like the great info that is on here.
