  1. No prob. I think you'll be fine with the seat width. If you're really concerned, they'll let you take the kayak down and sit in it at the store to get an idea. I would actually suggest that actually. I did that with mine. Good luck!
  2. Dude. Duuuuuude. Would you rather break out a big ol' paper map and GUESS where you are or have a GPS enabled device that tells you EXACTLY where you are, how fast you're going, where you've been, where the spots you caught fish are at and have every map in the US at your disposal in the palm of your hand? Thought so. In case you're still confused, get the app. You'll be happy you did. Oh and FYI, the updates are free!
  3. I've had my emotion kayaks renegade xt for 1 1/2 years now and I got to try out my buddy's f&s sot talon the other day and man what a difference. My kayak is 10' long and 36" wide. His is 12' and 31" I think wide. His was way faster and got pushed around by the wind a heck of a lot less. I'm good at standing in my kayak and his was just as easy. However the seat was not nearly as comfortable as mine and I'm not talking about the padding but about the way the kayak is molded. There's really no lower back support like on mine. But I'd be willing to try and mickeymouse my own seat in that one if I had it. I don't know what it's like to load and offload from a vehicle because I don't own it but I know it's like 25lbs heavier than mine and that could be rather heavy if you didn't have a truck bed to load it in. All in all I think it's a pretty nice kayak but when I buy my next one I'm aiming at that new Native slayer 12
  4. Thank god you answered and said what the new design is for. The suspense was killing me
  5. Live target, awesome frog!
  6. $1000-1500? Just buy the new Native Slayer 12 and thank me later! No but seriously, I would look for a 12' kayak sit on top and consider the seat design because you'll be on the water for good stretches at a time and if your back is killing you you'll be hating life. I've been using my kayak, an emotion kayaks renegade xt for 2 seasons now which is a ten foot boat and I got to try out my friends kayak, a field and streams eagle talon from dsg and wow what a difference. His was much faster and tracked much better and was much less affected from the wind. I was getting blown everywhere WITH a drift sock and he was sitting right in place. Don't skimp on a paddle either. Buy the lightest quality you can because remember, you're paddling with it the whole time. Good luck
  7. I had one too. It had the same lousy feel when cranking but it was a great casting reel and plenty tough for the fight. I returned it and picked up a revo s. I hope they did resolve the problem because besides the feel of the cranking, I actually really liked a lot about it and wouldn't mind having one again. They feel great in the hand and are super lightweight.
  8. Awesome! Your products are excellent, keep it up!
  9. Alright, I'll just do it like normal, thanks
  10. What's the best way to insert the soft plastic on a flipping hook like the trokar since there is that large black plastic piece near the eyelet? Seems like doing it the traditional way would produce a large unneeded hole.
  11. There is a lot of good braid out there; power pro, suffix 832, etc. I use power pro and have never had issues. However I've used spider wire and my opinion on that back when I used it is that it's not a durable line in the long run. It flattened out and frayed and eventually would just break. I've had the same spool of power pro on for 2 years and its still as good as when I first put it on.
  12. You could always have a razor blade handy and just kinda shave it off.
  13. Yeah I figured you guys had good luck with it. Now I'm just wondering what the heck I'm gonna use those ewg's for. I bought some 5/0 trokar flippin hooks and they're ready to be snelled!
  14. I'm gonna start doing it but was wondering how many of you guys do it and if you've seen a better (or worse) hookup ratio.
  15. Cool! Can't wait to see.
  16. Already a pro huh? I'll take it! Kinda makes me feel good about myself, thanks!
  17. Well I already lost my only spoon which allowed me to get some distance from shore. Got caught on some netting that looks like a crab catching setup. I have some other stuff, a lot of what you mentioned. We'll see!
  18. Awesome! Thanks for the replies.
  19. I use the palomar knot for flouro 17lb. Never had a break off. Until I do I'll switch. I just watched a *** vid on YouTube about how to tie the palomar for flouro. Even though I never tied it that way I still never had problems.
  20. I'm headed down to Long Island for the weekend and we're going to be next to a salt water bay and I was wondering if anyone has had success throwing any sort of bass bait and caught any sort of salt water fish. I'm bringing some cranks, a large spoon and some flippin baits just for the heck of it. Oh and some swim baits. Anyway, I'm just gonna cast and see what happens. Thanks
  21. I've dunked my pq, said a few expletives and just kept on fishing it. No probs. I did give it a good cleaning but that was way later on.
  22. Rockchalk, why did you switch everything over? Weren't you really impressed with the new revo lineup? What do you like better about the shimanos now that you've switched? Sorry, I don't have an answer for the op.
  23. What's the difference between the 481 series and the R series?
  24. Thanks. I'll keep that in mind.
