  1. i always keep my plastics in the original packing
  2. most golf course ponds are over populated and you will have to weed through the dinks to get a respectable fish.
  3. i texas rig them with a small bullet weight and use a lift and drop retrieve. has been a go to bait for on light line with a 1/8oz weight over grass beds
  4. i am looking to purchase my first float tube. any recommendations as to any particular brands? any tips that will help me down the line? i've read online many guys use ping pong paddles rather than fins i don't want to spend a fortune being that this will be my first one but i don't want to buy a cheap one that will not last
  5. i change hooks out on my super spook jr with #4 owner ST-36 trebles
  6. ditch the leader. use staright mono, braid or fluoro.
  7. VMC make a quality hook. i am speaking from a saltwater stand point though. bass fishing i generally use gamakatsu. i also like the owner treble hooks
  8. super spook jr in baby bass color
  9. i would fish the stumps with a 10" worm...good luck
  10. The technique specific rods catch people's attention. It is the best thing a rod manufacturer could have done on their end. It makes people think they need every rod in the lineup lol
  11. Spook. Even if its 95 degrees and blazing sun
  12. nice job! i bought a bbz-1 floating shad in perch color but have yet to catch anything over 8" on it LOL.
  13. 7-9" plastics on heavy lead heads depending on the tide. i like the 9" sluggos a lot. you can also throw pencil poppers and big metal lips.
  14. never wrap tooo tight but never wrap loose. use just enough tension to take up the stretch in the thread. make sure you color preserve the wraps before you epoxy them. my reasoning for this is not to so much protect the color of the thread but to seal the thread to bond it to the guide and black.
  15. i never use fluorocarbon as my main line but the few times i used it as leader material in 15-30lb test for saltwater species such as false albacore, weakfish, and fluke (summer flounder) i've always used a standard clinch or palomar and never had the knot fail. i prefer mono or braid as my mainline bass fishing. i gave fluoro two shots and both times i had it knot up on me and would snap in random places
  16. i usually put my money more towards the rod. i strictly fish spinning tackle in freshwater and their are a lot of quality "cheap" spinning reels. it is more of a luxury thing to me fishing a high end ($150+) spinning reel. this isn't to say i always buy cheap spinning reels but if i had a limited budget i would rather have a better rod then spinning reel when i fish saltwater a more expensive conventional reel is far superior to the rod. I still fish a lot of old glass rods bottom fishing saltwater but always spend the money on a high quality conventional reel.
  17. i love the zoom ol' monster (10")
  18. it's either a husky jerk or x-rap. from my experience the x-rap dives a little bit deeper
  19. anything 6+ is considered a trophy up north where i am especially in the heavily pressured lakes and ponds. many guys fish their whole life for a fish over 6 up here and it doesn't happen especially. i would never kill one just to put it on my wall. thats what a picture is for.
  20. we're fishing bass not tuna lol. i adjust accordingly by pulling with my hand
  21. buzzing across surface scum then letting them sink in open pockets of water
  22. nice looking bag but i would not want to carry that around all day. I carry a cheap shoulder bag i bought at dicks sporting goods for $10. it is just big enough to fill a 3600 plano with hooks, sinkers, and hardbaits. i keep my plastics in the original bags and throw em in with the plano. no need to bring 100 lures and 50 bags of plastics
  23. thanks for the advice. i have rigged them that exact way but they seem to spin. the "spin" doesnt seem to have an effect on my catch rate though.
  24. the guy is an ****hole in my opinion. unfortunately nothing you can do since it's private and you are taking the risk of losing your access to the pond. my best piece of advice is don't forgwet your pliers again and keep to yourself
  25. how to do keep them from not spinning? i am using a 5/0 gamakastu hook with the spring attached to the eye
