  1. well you should see the same bright colors that you see in spinnerbaits in swim jigs since theyre kinda the same thing. but a spinnerbait or swim jig is used to imitate a baitfish a lot of the times so the colors stand out more, when im flipping or pitching a jig i prefer a darker color since it stands out more in murky water...it creates a profile in the water.
  2. I'd give the lure back. That's very rude of them to just take your lure right in front of you...but you did the right thing by not being confrontational...its just not worth it.
  3. I think it's so other bass don't steal their meal. And yes always look for cover even if it's on offshore structure.
  4. I think it'd be easier if you just bought a floating swimbait.
  5. Have you thought of a modified drop shot rig with a heavier weight ? Just to keep the bait in the strikezone longer.
  6. I believe when you get a bite it makes a sound and gives off a signal like a light or something...
  7. If you're fishing a larger lake I'd go to the back creeks...for the most part I'd fish shallow and along the shoreline. Throwing crankbaits, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and swimbaits. Looking for a reaction strike. thats just me though
  8. I haven't had any issues with sk jigs...the hook being straightened could be caused by the rod and line you're using.
  9. Kvd 1.5 square bill in black back chartreuse. ..I like to slow roll it especially past and around visible cover like stumps and laydowns.
  10. Kvd square bill, chartreuse black back in the 1.5 size Or a black and blue strike king jig
  11. Haha wow...seems like an interesting outing. When crazy unfortunate stuff like that happens it just turns into a good memory..at least in my experience.
  12. Yeah you're not getting what we're trying to say dude. YOU may not think its a big deal but it doesn't matter what YOU think. Somebody payed money to put that course on that land and if they don't want you there, then you gotta go. A golf course isn't public property.
  13. Sounds like a good day ! With some nice smallies...
  14. When you hear about illegal activity the right thing to do is report it. He cares because what you did is illegal...
  15. I fish square bills quite often and I throw them on 15# berkley fluoro. Works great for me.
  16. my dad bought me a zebco rod and reel combo when i was much younger, it came with a little tackle box and had a purple curly tail worm along with other lures. i used it to land a decent bass
  17. Sounds like ya'll had a good time !
  18. Looks like a great haul ! Haha By the looks of things I'll be caving in to the bait monkey once again...
  19. I've had the most success with square bill crankbaits, texas rigged plastics and jigs.
  20. I havent had to do that but I'd desrtoy my lure in a heartbeat to save a fish... In my opinion you did the right thing man.
  21. Try using a fluoro leader...if you already are then make it a little bit longer. Keep at it though.
  22. The kvd splash is designed so that it can be walked like a spook and chugged like a popper while the spit n shad is just a popper style lure.
  23. Where I fish 1 is good. Casting for a 1 to 2 pounder.
  24. ^^very true ! I use rubbing alcohol, helps find the cuts too haha
  25. I know a lot of people are gonna say a jig but I've personally never had any success with them. I've got the most confidence with a kvd square bill so I'll go with that. The 1.5 in bluegill pattern.
