  2. Hello fellow Masshole!! Westfield says welcome
  3. Picked up two kayaks this friday. ( One for me and one for the wife ) Our first kayaks!!!! Started rigging them with Conseal silent tread system I picked up from HOOK1. Hope I uploaded these correctly?
  4. Heya Felix, First of all congrats on your new kayak, I just picked up a pair of the 115x models for me and my wife. I live about an hour of Albany ( western mass ) and Ive also got to give ya props on the maiden voyage with the crazy weather we have had lately. Yaknow 65-68 degrees and sunny on Friday and 25 degrees and raining on Saturday!!! As I was reading your review on your kayak with the high seat I did have a question for ya. What size paddle are you using for that? Im thinking about the 240 and was wondering if thats what you might be using? Im a large guy myself and was really glad to hear you speak of the stability of this thing. Great review man. Lee
  5. Welcome to the forums MIke!
  6. I like Bill Dance as well. But when Wal-Mart took him on. Every sentence ended up with. " This is all available at your local walmart" But at the same time . I also remember Roland Martin trying to sell me a helicopter lure. Ahh good times!!
  7. Thought it would be cool to get a couple opinions on the fishing shows that used to air back in the late 70s 80s on saturday mornings. Remember those?? Back to Back to Back etc. For me it was " Fishing with Roland Martin " Usually on about 8am when I was a kid. Being 40 now I often remember saturday fishing shows. And just how good they were. Dance, Houston,Parker just to name a few. I actually enjoyed those shows more than the ones today ! And the best part was I didnt need a certain channel or cable package to watch them!! Im not ranting or anything. But I thought it would be cool to ask what your favorite fishing show was and why? Like I said for me it was Roland Martin. I really loved to watch him on Okechobee fishing with live shiners and a balloon for a bobber. Huge bass out of tall grass!!!! From there I was hooked on bass fishing!!!!! Hell I even remembering begging my folks for a Shimano Bantam Beastmaster two speed casting reel ! Haha. Thanks for letting me reminise on the on the old days. Feel free to share. Lee
  8. Jig (Black w/Blue)
  9. I think that would be a great start. I use griz baits jigs. He is a local guy from my town and well., there is just something that feels right about supporting a local bait shop - bait maker in my book. I wish ya the best of luck with fishing jigs. I know I love using them.
  10. There will be alot of people that I am sure will chime in on this with much more experience than I have with jigs. But one thing I have learned from these forums about fishing with jigs is to keep it as simple as possible until your skills grow with them. My go to color is Black with a zoom craw chunk riding the hook. Like I said, for me keeping it simple and listening on these forums has made the jig my favorite lure to use. Good luck
  11. Its actually the first guide from the base. Like I said the eye itself is all there. Just the round plastic insert that goes into it.
  12. Ive got to say that I absolutely love fishing from my yak.. I just got a wilderness systems ride 115X. Being able to stand and fish from this is amazing. Plus I can launch it anywhere. These new kayaks are so stable as well. You will fall out of my new kayak before you flip it.. If you havent seen this kayak yet. Its worth checking out..
  13. As I was going through my gear this past weekend I realized that one of the inserts (guide)on my fishing rod eyes is missing? I hope I am using the right words here. Its actually the the round plastic guide that fits into the eyes on my reese rod. Is this a piece I can replace myself? Are they available? And if so where would I find them? Thanks so much... Lee
  14. Is there alot of gains now when using these red hooks im seeing so much of ? I fish alot of finnesse stuff and absolutely love a wacky senko. But are you all seeing more strikes triggered from using red hooks? Just curious. Like all of you on here. I myself have fished for quite a long time and to me it just doesnt look right. But then again Ive been using natural hooks my whole life. Basically ive thought about changing it up and would like to here your opinions. Thanks, Lee
  15. Another good tip if you are using solvent is to place it in a small container. And from there if you have an aquarium, place the container on the small pump. The vibrations from the pump work almost like an ultra-sonic cleaner. Works well
  16. Im the proud owner of the sx, the revo winch, and a hank parker lp from abu. ( probably a pro max.) I love them all
  17. If you really want your bearings clean I recomend this. Buy yourself a mason jar. A tea infuser ands a can of naptha cleaner. Put the naptha in the jar and it will keep forever, You place your bearings in a tea infuser and shake. This stuff will clean and remove grit and other particles. Back in the day I raced RC cars very seriously and this is what we used. This is what an infuser looks like if you ever seen one. And as far as a mason jar goes. Im quite sure you all know what those are. Especially if your from the south.!!!!! Hahaha
  18. Anyone have any luck with these? I know the Bass Pro stuff is kind of hit or miss. I seen the Johnny Morris rods from there and was curious if there any good.? or for that matter are any of the bass pro casting rods good.?
  19. I would have to say yes. But that doesnt mean I am right. Someone will chime in real soon .
  20. I just purchased a cranking rod for my winch reel. I highly recomend that you take a look at Powells line up of cranking rods. Im loving mine
  21. Spinning ? Casting? Fishing from a boat? Tough call to make. More info and you will have more ideas than you can handle. LOL these guys in here are great. I highly recomend listening to what they have to say. Good luck with your purchase.
  22. Is it true that they are also gonna have a " BLING STORE " for the revos as well??? Carbon fiber handles and eva pads? Thought I heard about that
  23. Well today my revo winch showed up from TW and I opened it up tried to reel it. And reeli it I did. But it doesnt feel near as smooth as my revo s or my sx. Those two reels have never needed lube yet. Do they not lube all the reels the same from the factory? What is the best lube for these reels? Anyone else have a rough reelin winch? ps. Its the original winch. Not the toro
