  1. Yea especially on the Southside. Just have a kevlar vest and bulletproof glass on your cars an home.
  2. That's how I fish my 90 Perch. It gets gobbled up. My 190 loon for the big toothy guys I usually retrieve straight on or a speed burst....sit....speed burst, twitch..sit. Something like that. The 190 makes pretty good racket
  3. Being that your laptop is "dated", it may or may not have enough performance to edit smoothly. If you find that you're getting really choppy playback or a lot of lag in editing you may want to invest in a new PC at some point. The alternative is to shoot video at lower quality and framerate. I had the same issue when I picked up my GoPro a few years back and editing was so discouraging that I had to buy a new PC. Once you get it though, it's a lot of fun. Enjoy.
  4. For those of you skeptical about throwing big baits...Bass don't have to be very big to want a big bait. Both of these rat fish are equally as big as the larger rat from Savage. Both of the fish bleow are only 2.5-3lbs. ~17". I have the duck and rat on the way from TW as soon as they are shipped in.
  5. Nice Paul. Looks like you had big fish?
  6. It's the bullshad knock off Castaic (Duckett) made. BD shad in Blue Shad. For $25 bucks it's not bad at all swims really well.
  7. Quick session yesterday. They were crushing this bait and they weren't even big. Lots of fun.
  8. I made it a couple years ago,it's ok. Buff brand and the other big names certainly make better quality ones. I wear it so my face doesn't get scorched. Or if I'm doing a stick up...jk.
  9. I put a beat down on some fish today. They were crushing this bait and they weren't even big. Lots of fun.
  10. Stationery fishing off a pier or bank it might prove worthy. Being on a bass boat with your foot glued to your TM, not sure this is for me.
  11. Welppp...now we just need it to be able to stream live tv and we can all turn our mortgages in and live on our boats. No reason to go home.
  12. I have a Yugo SKS that I converted with the TAPCO kit and 20 round mag. It feeds and fires perfectly, no issues at all. It's still heavier than a bag of bricks so aside from just having fun with it, I would never use it for hunting personally as there are just better firearms for that. I have thought about removing the bayonet on mine to put on a bipod mount but I do not shoot nearly enough to even consider it. Swimbaits and rods/reels are more appealing to me Like Jeff mentioned I kept my stock components if I ever want to convert it back. http://www.tapco.com/products/sks/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=170 That is exactly what I have linked. The butt extends which I like for both comfort and storage.
  13. Here's some from past couple weeks. Been posting down in the "IL" or "FIB" thread if you will. It's been fun but mainly fishing for a BIG bite that seems to be eluding me.
  14. I have a couple 7" Crane baits but I usually only throw musky specific baits when I'm going for them. I've caught bass on the buck tails/cowgirls I use for musky. I throw a lot of my same bass swimbaits for musky. My PB in my avatar was on a Deps 175 SS. I just haven't had any chance to fish for them this year, not sure that I will. I had to bail on my Canada trip for a wedding.
  15. Skunded here on Sunday night.
  16. It's a residential pond in my subdivision run by the association so it is technically private. Only residents are permitted to fish it but I can tell you it gets its fair share of pressure. Being that this is out my front door I'm not goingto reveal the exact spot. There are a lot of residential ponds in the DuPage, Kane, McHenry and surrounding counties. Just make sure youre not in violation. That said every where in IL gets pressure. That's why you need to be different than your average Joe going out to these spots and what you're throwing. I get a lot of smirks when people see I'm throwing 5-9" baits. I don't have any issues finding fish with big baits or my conventional stuff. BeBe smarter than the rest of the guys shore pounding, and you'll have success.
  17. You can't catch fish on 'em if you dont chuck 'em. I know my hazard spots in the pond. I have been throwing new/different baits almost every time I go out. It's been keeping it interesting and more fun for me. I'm also learning which baits fit my style and which do not.
  18. Went out for a bit to check the morning bite. I'm more of an afternoon/dusk/evening angler. I got this guy who absolutely crushed my Melosh Gulping Gill. Had a lot of follows after and lost one really good fish. Can't seem to tag anything of real good size as of late.
  19. Asking price is high if you ask me. I have an 01' R73 with an Evinrude 115 (so pretty close match to this), and it does about 43 top speed. 45 with the wind at your back maybe. Plenty fast for a 17.5' boat. I bought mine in 08' for $10,000 and change and it was in pristine condition. That said...........I wish I'd bought a bigger boat especially with whats on the markets today. You can get more for that money if you're not set on a Ranger. Don't get me wrong, I love Ranger boats but if I could do it over I might have opted for a bigger boat, different brand at the same value. just my .02
  20. No, not the owner. But I do business with them and a few other fishing related companies.
  21. I have two 50's and a 40. They're a blast to fish and they get the job done. Best budget friendly rat on the market imo. One of my 50's is off getting some paint work so I'll post it when I get it back. Should be here end of the week.
  22. 105! Much too hot for this northern yankee. I'd need a bass dome with AC. Then would need to figure out out to pitch out of it. Good fish there Big-0
  23. A nice solid bass on the 316 Baby wake last night. Crushed it running it through some emergent vegetation in about 2 FOW.
  24. Nice chunky bass right there. Nicely done!
