  1. If your looking for more vibration or ways for the bass to find your jig look into rattles and or trailers with more action like a rage craw
  2. It's been 30 degrees the last few nights here in north Wisconsin. By all means it's fall!
  3. Maybe a top water bait?? Who knows but it sure looks like a cool collector bait! TYG
  4. My buddy swears by a 100% red switchblade jig. Don't know why but it definitely catches fish. Other than that, I never see red lures..
  5. Try messing with your blades also. Gold for murky water silver for clear. Colarado blades give more vibrations and move at slower speeds but willows are more flash but move at faster speeds. I generally love them for windy choppy days but on calm days I always use them also. A 1/2oz chart with double willow smaller silver blade and large golden blade is my go to. Hope this helps. TYG
  6. Just picked this reel up for a awesome price, I plan on using it for musky. But I've seen a lot of people use the Cardiff for big bass swimbaits, is this reel to big for a bass rod? I have 80ln braid on it but will run a 18" 140lb FC leader on it for muskies just in case. Anybody use the 400 size? Or is it overkill? How's the casting an drag on it? TYG
  7. That'll be just fine for bass or musky. When you catch a big musky make sure to post it. I love those things..
  8. You can go from 12$ power pro to 30$ plus braid. It's all braid, there's a different answer for everyone. If your on a budget get power pro of 832 and you won't have any problems. If you want some of the best, get Kanzen or samurai. This is like a ford vs Chevy question haha
  9. Jealousy
  10. Once your top waters stop breaking through the ice is only when I stop throwing them.
  11. I don't have a answer but this really intrigues me.. I don't see why it wouldn't be legal in Michigan though.
  12. Have read the TW page about it, looks like a fun time.. Always wanted to know what it's like to use the highest end equipment
  13. Don't waste your money or fluro braid, spool a full spool of the 65lb braid then buy a leader FC like seagaur red label an just attach leaders as needed. Then you won't waste as much overall line compared to retieing on one spool over and over. I've used 2'-12' leaders all work fine..
  14. ^^^ 65 lb braid is great, and if your fishing a long stretch of docks and you feel the water is clear, spend the minute and tie on a FC leader. Otherwise do the "ISH MONROE BOMB TECHNIQUE"
  15. I fish lots of rivers with beavers and the small mouth don't mind to my knowledge. But I wouldn't ever aim to hook a beaver... Bad news..
  16. Look at the h20 mettle posts on here and the active thread. Tons of great reviews. I beat the snot out of mine and she kept going strong. And they're really smooth! If they made them in 7.1:1 ratio I'd have a half dozen of them
  17. I had the h20 mettle realtree max 4 camo on It and for the money those reels are amazing. No complaints
  18. Powell diesel 7'2" bps PQ 40lb braid 15lb FC leader Powell diesel 7'6" lews tournament mg 50lb braid 20lb FC leader
  19. Always thought of it after I heard other people rig like a rage shell cracker verticle
  20. Okay, I'll be 16 in a few days and obviously working at the burger joint flipping burgers can't buy me a new skeeter.. So I really want to buy a fishing kayak, I fish a lot of tiny pothole lakes and smaller lakes where I know big bass lurk. But I know absolutely nothing about fishing kayaks. Here are some of my questions. 1.) in what fishing Kayaks can you stand in? I only will buy one if I can stand in it, I'm about 180lbs and 5'10". 2.) what's a good length or width to look for? 3.) I know there's paddle drivin ones and the foot pedal and ill probably prefere a paddle one due to price. I assume they would be cheaper? 4.) what are some good brands that I could look into for <600$$? Or is that number just way to low for a kayak? I don't need any with electronics
  21. That actually sounds pretty cool, you should send me a picture or post one. I'd like to see how it looks
  22. Some beautiful fish, congrats!
  23. Frogging is to men like shoe shopping is to women... Never a bad time to go frogging!
  24. Looking to spend around 20$ on a braid for punching, suffix 832 in the 65lb test intrigues me.. What would everyone else recommend?
  25. I live in north Wisconsin.. And the small river smallies here are the toughest fighters around. My avatar came from a river that's 20 yards wide, she ate a Cavitron buzzbait right after I zipped it past the rock she was behind..
