I'm a novice jig angler and if I really like this rod I might end up getting it from TW..
It's rated for 3/8th-1-1/4th oz.
Anybody ever use one of these rods? For 60 bucks are they to good to be true?
I'm not very familiar with strand counts to thickness ratio, but would you recommend this to a beginner like me? Is this a good confidence building kinda jig?
I always hear these are a high end spinnerbait.. I plan on getting some from TW this week.. What are some color/blade combinations that you can't ever go wrong with.
Thanks for the help!
I'm the biggest novice/inexperienced Jig angler in the planet, my only experience is throwing them in my bathtub to see the action...
I was wondering instead of braid with a fluro leader... Can I run straight fluro? What size? Would I lose sensitivity or is there other cons or pros of this?
I've never tried it, but Ish Monroe uses a technique when pitching to shallow cover with a 1.5oz weight. He says it stirs up the bottom and he was catching fish doing it. I think it's all just depends on the fish and place..
Soft plastics are endless. I can throw on a 4" power bait wih a hook through it and my girlfriend can catch bass left and right. There's no really wrong way to fish it.. I like mine with lots of scent like power bait. 6lb mono and a zebco spin cast reel could bring in bass on plastics. Just be creative.
I have two color grubs in my favorite patterns like black/orange chart/black white/red ect. I fish them on 1/8oz walleye jig for >10FOW. Ill catch anything from walleyes, bass, pike, bulkheads, and my buddy just landed a 45" musky on a walleye jig and grub at the dam here in town.. Cheap and easy..
I've been watching major league fishing and plan on throwing jigs next year and was wondering, on Major Leauge Fishing a few guys would sharpie the last few feet of their braid instead of using FC leader to make it less visible. Right now on my jig reel I have 50# power pro with 4' 16lb FC leader. Would it be more benificial to use the sharpie method over FC? I'm fishing not too cllear of water
Thanks for the help
Bought one last year, never threw it, but had huge black hooks on it. Gave it to my friend. Try googling it or YouTube the bait itself to see its action..
Thanks for the info! I love bass resource for things like this.. So for throwing KVD 1.5's and bomber square A's I should have no problem chucking and winding that 6.3:1? Im pretty excited to go out and try it
I've never thrown crankbaits but I always see crankbait reels like 5.1:1 ratios, isn't a 6.3:1 when burned fast almost to fast? Or is that the best way to go? I have a 6.3 reel I'd love to use for cranks I just thought it was to "high speed"
I have some discusting looking water here in northern Wisconsin, and I still have good luck. Just try more vibrations and scents to them. Mega Strike works well.. I do like trusty ribbion tail worms..
