  1. There is a awesome video with a guy here who talks about fish management go find it. Sorry if that sounds mean but I got to crash, its not hard to find think its one of the first videos listed. Alot can cos a fish kill, chemical run offs, over stocking, alot. At the same time, nature alot of times replinishes a pond in time, so as long as all the fish didnt die and there remained a solid about of food they are there.
  2. Went one time, stayed for 15 laps and left, Kentucky Speedway is much much better. Indy is only good on tv or to be able to say you went imo.
  3. For $100 I would of suggested a Revo or Orra S if you like Abu, or a BPS Pro Quailifer(Centrifugal Brakes!!!). However with that said, take it back and get you a Abu Black Max at $50 I beleive these are the nicest beginner reel on the market. I have 2 of the new ones and 1 thats a little older, while I plan on switching to STX's in time I wont be selling what I have because for the money Ive got invested in them they are to good of a reel to give away and you can throw it in your bag and have a back up for when you do get that nasty blow up.
  4. Id say its worth the effort to keep going. The main thing right now might be just unlocking the pond and being able to get to know it to make the proper adjustments to stay on em once the conditions change. I do beleive ponds are easier to figure out due to the size. Try throwing a carolina rig or some other heavy bottom bait, to get a idea of how the bottom relates to what you can see visualy. A friend of mine took me to a pond a few years back. That in his words "use to be good but isnt any longer", up untill I got to know the owner and got permission to fish solo I saw positive signs but never really felt like I had unlocked it. In the past 2 years Ive caught probably 12 fish in the 4-6lb class while none actually went 6 biggest one was 5-8. Now Im in the process of getting some of the dinks out and tryin to see about getting some more baitfish into the pond. I mention this because I think its a prime example that if your catching fish dont judge it to fast good or bad, fish it learn it and then decide.
  5. I borrowed a Wright & McGill Skeet Reese senko/toad rod about 2 months ago from a friend for a trip. Next day I went out and bought a jig/worm model. I like both of these rods so much that I gave my other rods to a friend to attempt to sell for me as he has more resources than I do. In a attempt to switch over to all W&M Skeets even if it means fewer rods for the time being. Picked up one of the Victory 621 reels as well, like most reviews Ive read they are loud out of the box but it had very little oil in it. Dont know if thats part of the excuse to keep cost down or what, but after oiling it up it has performed well and I do like the over sized handles. Must admit though Im not 100% sold, I like my Abu's and BPS Pro Quilfiers alot. And at roughly $20 cheaper than a PQ, I dont know if Id make a full switch.
  6. I recently picked up a Pelican Bass Raider 8. Got some work to do to it, nothing major stuff like buying a battery, trolling motor, depth finder, rod straps etc. I havent had it on the water yet, plan on getting it registered and a permit to fish a local lake next weeked. The guy I got it from said he stood in it and he's bigger than I so I hope it works for me. I dont think it'll be idea for bass fishing 2 people though, however I'll take my 6 year old to look for gills and cats. Some friends and my fiance are trying to get me to paint it yellow & black. Its kinda planted a seed, but I doubt I do cos Im sure it'll look bad once it gets scratched up and we all know its going to get scratched. The reason for the colors is because of my use of Skeet Reese rods and my passion for the Iowa Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers. Plus my oldest sons school colors are yellow & black.
