  1. Very Very true... I caught a 25 inch tiger muskie a few days ago on a #8 x-rap while targeting small mouth. Luckily I netted him before he chewed through my line
  2. Took a little vacation last weekend to the North Fork of the Lewis River is SW WA. Pics are of my 9 year old son with springers (spring run Chinook -King- Salmon)
  3. Nice looking fish. Whats the water temp over there? Its still high forties.. almost 50 here... Eastern Wa.
  4. Cabela's Guideware is what I use for recreation.... When I worked on the crab boat (dungeness of WA coast) I used Helley Hansen. Buy the best that you can afford. Whatever you buy, test it in the shower to make sure it doesn't leak. If it leaks at all, take it back. Even the best made raingear can have a flaw sometimes. Better to find out sooner than later. Also I suggest buying it big if you plan on fishing when its cold out. Being cold sucks... and being wet and cold really sucks. Like Roadwarrior said... best investment ever made
  5. I use the plain Yozuri Hybrid on my spinning reels (6lb test) and fished 38-40 degree water for walleye this spring with zero problems. I cant see why the Ultra Soft would be worse.
  6. http://www.lowrance.com/Manuals/Files/X47TX_042503.pdf I don't know if this is the same unit but the transducer set up should be pretty much the same.
  7. Thanks for the input. I tried doing a search first, and the only thing that came up was a post about someone trading in their new glasses for a new rod...
  8. I am looking for a new pair of sunglasses. I am looking at the 'Solar Bat, Armor #518' I tried a pair on today and they fit well, and I want the interchangeable lenses feature. I wear regular prescription glasses but I think I am going to try the disposable contacts with good sunglasses. The last pair of prescription sunglasses I bought cost me about $300 after the polarizing and other coatings and now the frames are busted/twisted (plastic frames on the dash of the truck for a day..... you can figure out the rest) and the lenses are pretty scratched up. Any suggestions? Thanks
  9. I leave about 2 inches in the bottom of my pot when I shut it off. It only takes about 10 minutes (on a setting of 7 or 8) to re-melt it when I want to pour again.
  10. Here is a 14 incher from Eastern WA ;D
  11. Neither have I
  12. That is cool. My kids bought me the "Coors Light" beer can crankbait for my birthday.... maybe they're trying to tell me something
