  1. Hawgs!!
  2. I catch more on a H&H black/yellow than any other I've tried.
  3. I've been looking for a few weeks, and that seems like the best deal on Craigslist. Yes, being off the bank is something I desperately need.
  4. Would a 12 foot old town caspian kayak be a good deal at the 350-400 price mark? This would be my first yak, and I want to pull the trigger if this is a good deal. Thanks guys.
  5. Or tie a leader to that braid and you're all set.
  6. X2 What others have said about being very stealthy. Also, what line were you using? If the water was unusually clear, this probably contributed to their increased spookiness.
  7. Bass shaped like footballs they are so fat!
  8. 4 when you're holding it, 6 when your boy is.
  9. I've used spike it garlic chartreuse with good results. However, I just ordered my first tube of megastrike, so hopefully I become a believer.
  10. Haha the banana thing is a myth!!
  11. Get on Texas fishing forum and check out their google bank fishing spots thread. There are 100s of spots to bank fish in DFW.
  12. Speedbead on here is selling some green mirror costas for 175 I believe.
  13. I use the chartreuse, garlic bottle to dip the tails if worms. The stuff works great, just reapply every 30 min or so. 1 bottle will last most "normal" fishermen a season. Me, I go through 2.
  14. Gamagatsu 1/0 should work great with trick worms and smaller worms 4-6 inches.
  15. That sounds like too heavy of a line for the rod. I would use 4-6 lb line and target perch or small bass.
  16. Limited time on the water plays a factor here as well. If you only get a few precious hours on the water a month, you don't want to waste that time with baits you have zero confidence in.
  17. I was putting money on A Big O thread as well! Nice chunk mike!
  18. I know it, and it's such a shame.
  19. I catch too many fish on weightless plastics to not throw them at least once a trip.
  20. If I'm working a plastic on bottom, where the price of the hook, weight and plastic are a 1.00 max, I will set the hook on anything that feels off. Yes, I have lost many setups like this, but I have also caught many good fish that didn't give me hat pronounced thump bass are known for.
  21. Nice fish! How was the fight?
  22. I've found many of your posts both informative and logical. In fact, several posts you have made in the past have ended up helping me land more fish.
  23. [quote name="BassinLou" post="1357316" timestamp=". Another situation for me that I would use a mono leader for instance would be, when using a fluke or fluke type bait. I find mono gives these baits the fluidity it needs to move freely in the water. Tied on straight braid the lure moves to stiff for me. I agree 100% when using flukes.
  24. Oh no!! The bait monkey is popping up all over the place! Hide your wallets gentlemen..
  25. You can find berkely lightening rods for around that price
